To survive your first dives in ANOMALITH, treat every run as an extraction job rather than a shooting gallery: check the controls and difficulty, enter with ammunition and gear that fit the objective, watch an Anomaly before committing shots, use a firearm together with an appropriate Anomalization Skill, reload only when you have space, and leave with the resources that matter most. Recovered objects, attachments and Artifacts then improve the next attempt. The game officially calls its enemies Anomalies; “anomalized mutant” is useful search wording, not an in-game enemy class.
This advice follows the systems described by FURYU and the encounter observations published from the demo. The full game launched on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in October 2026, so treat demo-specific observations as examples rather than guarantees for every full-game encounter.
What are you actually fighting in ANOMALITH?
ANOMALITH is a single-player, third-person survival shooter in which Reona Minazuki enters Anomaly Zones, fights creatures called Anomalies, chooses what to retrieve and attempts to reach extraction. FURYU’s Steam description summarizes the central pressure: “Manage your ammunition and carefully select what to retrieve as you make your way to extraction.” Steam store description
That means a successful dive has three parts:
- Combat: defeat or bypass threats using firearms and Anomalization Skills.
- Resource decisions: decide which anomalous objects, materials and equipment are worth occupying limited inventory space.
- Extraction: get the valuable haul out so it can support later preparation.
There is no documented full-game enemy list, universal weak-point map, damage breakpoint or single best weapon. Build your decisions around what the current room, objective, ammunition supply and displayed equipment stats demand.

What should I do before my first dive?
Preparation prevents the two most common beginner failures: entering with an unsuitable loadout and spending scarce ammunition before you understand the threat.
Check the controls and difficulty
Open the settings menus before committing to a run. A Steam demo update added a Survival difficulty, expanded keyboard rebinding, mouse-sensitivity options and shortcuts for healing items. Those options may differ by platform or build, so use the labels shown on your installation rather than assuming a particular default. Steam community announcements
If aiming, camera movement or item access feels awkward, change the binding or sensitivity immediately. A control problem during a reload or dodge is more expensive than pausing to configure it in the office.

Take a firearm you can control with the ammunition you actually have, not a theoretical “best gun.” Consider the range and movement the objective appears to require, your reserve ammunition, reload exposure and any attachments available for that weapon. Choose a complementary Anomalization Skill
FURYU identifies 12 unique powers that support gunfights. Select an offensive skill when you need help creating damage or space, and a defensive skill when surviving an approach or buying time is the immediate problem. Leave room for the haul
Do not fill every inventory slot with ammunition or low-value items before you leave. The publisher explicitly connects ammunition, retrieval choices and extraction, so reserve capacity for objects and materials that can improve later preparation. You can make a better decision once you know what the dive is offering.

What should I do in my first fight?
Use a deliberate sequence: observe, create space, fire economically, and only then decide whether the reward justifies more exposure. This is practical guidance inferred from the documented systems, not a guaranteed route for every Anomaly.

- Pause at the edge of the encounter. Identify the Anomaly’s position, the available retreat path and any nearby cover or open space. Do not begin by emptying a magazine.
- Watch one attack cycle. Look for movement, sound or visual cues that reveal whether the creature is closing, circling or preparing a ranged attack. Demo impressions reported different attack patterns and weak points, but those observations came from a preview build and do not establish a universal rule for the full game. - Use the firearm suited to the moment. Fire when the target is in a controllable position and your ammunition supports the objective. If an attachment changes the weapon’s practical handling, include that in the choice rather than comparing guns by name alone.
- Add a Skill when it solves the immediate problem. An offensive power can help finish an exposed threat; a defensive power can help you survive a rush or reposition. Use the Skill to complement the weapon, then return to sensible ammunition management.
- Reposition before reloading. If the enemy is already closing, create distance or reach a safer angle first. A demo writer specifically described reloads and weapon switching as slow, so avoid beginning either action in the middle of an incoming attack. - Confirm the room is safe enough to loot. Before opening menus or sorting items, check that you have enough distance to react. Then take only the resources that justify their inventory cost.
When should I reload or parry?
Reload when you have a genuine safety window, and treat parrying as a cue-dependent option rather than a universal answer. The available parry and timing information comes from a named writer’s demo playthrough, not a complete full-game combat manual.
Reloading
Reload during separation, after an attack has finished or when the enemy is committed to a movement that cannot immediately reach you. Switching weapons can also expose you, according to the same demo impressions, so do not assume swapping is automatically safer than reloading. If the encounter is still active, moving to a better position before opening the reload animation is usually the more defensible choice.
Parrying
In the demo, a glowing enemy signaled an incoming melee strike that could be parried. Different Anomalies showed different attack patterns and weak points in that preview. Learn the tell of the particular enemy in front of you, but do not assume that every Anomaly glows, can be parried or exposes the same weak point in the released game. If you have not confirmed the timing, maintaining distance and using a suitable Skill is safer than forcing a parry simply because one demo enemy allowed it.

Compare options against the encounter in front of you, not against an unsupported universal ranking. The useful questions are whether you can control the weapon, afford its ammunition, survive its reload exposure and exploit its available attachments.

When the objective is unclear, favor flexibility: enough ammunition for an encounter, one Skill that covers your biggest risk and open inventory space. Once you understand what the zone is asking of you, specialize more confidently.
What should I keep before extraction?
Keep items that improve your next dive or are unusually valuable, and leave behind low-priority objects when they crowd out better materials. Extraction is the point at which a risky choice becomes usable progress.
Use a simple priority order
- Required or clearly valuable objective items. If the objective identifies a target, protect the space needed for it.
- Materials and anomalous objects that feed preparation. The publisher describes recovered objects, attachments and Artifacts as part of improving weapons and gear.
- Enough ammunition and healing access to finish the route. Do not trade the ability to survive the return trip for one marginal pickup.
- Everything else. Drop or skip items when they prevent a higher-priority retrieval.
Understand portals and auto-sort as demo features
Demo impressions described auto-sort and portals that transferred crafting materials back to the office, reducing inventory pressure. Those are useful patterns to look for, but the report does not establish identical portal placement in every full-game zone. Extract before greed turns a good run bad
Once you have the objective item or a worthwhile haul, stop treating every additional room as mandatory. The publisher’s loop is explicitly built around deciding what to retrieve and reaching extraction, so a modest haul that arrives safely is more useful than a larger one lost to an avoidable fight. Bring successful retrievals back to the office and use them to improve weapons and gear. FURYU’s publisher copy also says that defeating Anomalies unlocks Dive Reports about their ecology. Review the reports available to you before another dive; they are a documented preparation resource, although the inspected material does not specify every report’s contents. A useful between-dive routine is:
- Check which recovered materials or objects can improve equipment.
- Review available Dive Reports for information relevant to the threats you have encountered.
- Inspect attachments and Artifacts rather than changing appearance alone.
- Restock ammunition and healing access, then leave inventory capacity for the next objective.
This loop turns an unsuccessful fight into information and an extracted haul into concrete preparation. It also avoids the trap of repeatedly entering with the same ammunition shortage or an unchanged control setup.

Break contact, observe one cycle and fire only during a controllable opening. Ammunition is part of the extraction economy, not an unlimited resource to spend on every sighting.

Move first. Demo reporting described slow reload and weapon-switch animations, so begin either action only after creating enough distance for the animation to finish.
“I carried loot but could not fit the important item.”
Reserve capacity before entering and sort deliberately. Keep objective items, upgrade materials and survival supplies ahead of low-priority pickups; use a transfer portal if your zone provides one.
“I assumed every glowing attack could be parried.”
Do not generalize a demo observation. Confirm the tell and behavior of the specific Anomaly, and use distance, a firearm or a defensive Skill when the parry opportunity is uncertain.
“The controls made combat feel harder than it should.”
Rebind keys, adjust mouse sensitivity or assign healing shortcuts where your platform exposes those settings. The demo update added these options, but labels and availability can vary by build.

- Confirm the current controls, healing shortcut and difficulty.
- Choose a firearm whose handling and ammunition fit the objective.
- Equip an offensive or defensive Anomalization Skill that addresses the main risk.
- Leave inventory space for anomalous objects, materials and objective items.
- Observe each unfamiliar Anomaly before committing a full magazine.
- Reload or switch only after creating a safe timing window.
- Treat glowing tells, parries and weak points as enemy-specific demo observations unless your build confirms them.
- Sort the haul, use any available transfer feature and extract before unnecessary greed.
- At the office, spend recovered resources on equipment, inspect Artifacts and read unlocked Dive Reports.
Which version and demo information applies in October 2026?
The Western launch announcement and store listings date the release to October 28, 2026 on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The producer’s release message gives Japan as October 29, 2026 in Japan Standard Time, so the two dates describe different regional timing rather than an unreleased game.
