There is no universal winner: choose the service that can stream the specific games you want on your exact device in your country. GeForce NOW is the closest fit for supported games you already own through connected PC storefronts; Xbox Cloud Gaming is built around eligible Game Pass access and selected free-to-play games; and Luna combines Prime-associated access with other offerings that vary by country and tier.
The practical question is not which provider advertises the largest catalog. It is whether the games on your personal shortlist are playable under the right access terms, in your region, with the screen, operating system, browser and controller you already have. A few minutes spent checking those details can prevent paying for a plan that does not solve your particular problem.
How the three services treat your game library
The key difference is what gives you permission to play. A subscription to a cloud service does not automatically make every game you own available to stream. Before choosing, check the game by name and establish whether you need to own it, whether it is included in an eligible subscription, or whether it is available as a free-to-play title.

That difference also affects how you think about value. With GeForce NOW, a large existing PC library can be useful, but only the supported portion is relevant. With Xbox Cloud Gaming and Luna, the central question is whether the current included catalog contains the games you want; owning a separate PC copy does not automatically transfer access to those services.

GeForce NOW: stream supported games from connected storefronts
GeForce NOW connects to supported PC storefront accounts and streams games that NVIDIA supports. In most cases, you must own the game through a linked store; supported free-to-play games are an exception. Having a PC game in your library is not enough by itself: the exact title must also be supported for GeForce NOW. NVIDIA reports more than 4,500 supported games, but that vendor-reported total is not a guarantee that any particular title is streamable, and the count can change.
NVIDIA categorizes supported games as Ready-to-Play and Install-to-Play. Those labels matter when you are estimating how quickly you can start and what setup may be involved, so check the current listing for a title instead of assuming every game in a connected storefront works the same way. A title can be present in your store account yet absent from the supported list, or its support status can change.
This model is attractive if you have a PC library you want to keep using without buying a second copy for a cloud catalog. It is less suitable if you want one subscription to provide a complete, fixed library. Keep your storefront credentials available, follow the provider’s account-linking steps, and verify the store version of each game; a supported title in one storefront is not proof that another storefront edition is supported.

Xbox Cloud Gaming provides access to eligible games through eligible Game Pass plans. The cloud catalog is therefore tied to both the current catalog and the plan that grants cloud access. Selected free-to-play games can also be played with a free Microsoft account in supported regions. That exception does not make the full Game Pass catalog free, nor does it mean every free-to-play title is available in the cloud.
Check both the game listing and your plan’s current cloud-play eligibility. A title’s presence in a Game Pass catalog is not, on its own, proof that it is cloud-playable for your account or in your region. Catalog membership and cloud availability are separate checks, and both can change when Microsoft updates its offerings.
Xbox is therefore a strong fit for someone who prefers a curated subscription library over managing separate PC-store ownership. It can be a poor fit if your priority is streaming games you already bought elsewhere, because the relevant access is governed by the Xbox catalog and Microsoft account rather than by a general PC storefront connection.
Luna: Prime-associated access and additional offerings
Luna offers Prime-associated cloud games alongside other Luna tiers. What is included depends on the country and membership, so a Prime benefit in one location should not be assumed to match the offer elsewhere. Amazon announced more than 60 games in Luna Standard on September 21, 2026; that is a dated catalog figure, not a promise that the same titles or count will remain available. Amazon also announced more than 25 GameNight games in October 2025. Treat that as historical announcement context, not a verified current GameNight count.

For Luna, verify the exact title in the catalog available to your country and the tier or membership you have. A game that can be claimed as a Prime benefit in a country is not necessarily playable there through Luna cloud gaming. Amazon separates claimable Prime games from full Luna cloud access, so reading a benefit description without checking the country list can lead to a mistaken assumption.
Luna can make sense when you already have Prime, like the current included selection and want to play on a supported television, browser or tablet. It is not automatically the best choice for every Prime member: the included games, additional tiers and cloud availability are all local and changeable.
Check country availability before comparing catalogs
Cloud gaming is not available everywhere, and Luna makes an important distinction between countries with full cloud gaming and countries where Prime games may be claimable without Luna cloud gaming. Amazon’s listed full-service countries are the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal and Luxembourg.
Amazon separately lists Australia, Brazil, Egypt, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and South Africa as countries that receive claimable Prime games but not Luna cloud gaming. Benefits and availability can vary by residence and Prime membership country; check Amazon’s live country information before subscribing or relying on a listed benefit. A move, a change in account country or a service update can alter what you see.

Regional service arrangements and availability can differ, so check the provider’s current regional page rather than assuming that a service available in a neighboring country is available to you.
Country eligibility is only the first geographic check. The same title can have different licensing or catalog status by market, and an app being downloadable does not prove that cloud play is enabled. Confirm the service, your account country and the title’s local listing together.
Compare the devices and input you will actually use
All three services span multiple device categories, but broad compatibility does not confirm that a particular model, browser, operating system or controller will work. Validate your specific setup on the provider’s current compatibility page before paying for a plan or accessory. Device support can be narrower on a television than on a computer, and browser support can depend on the operating-system version.

Amazon Luna devices
Amazon lists Chrome on PC, Mac and Chromebook; Edge on PC and Mac; Safari on iPhone and iPad; and Chrome on Android, subject to listed minimum browser and operating-system versions. It also lists Fire TV, Fire Tablets released in 2018 or later, and selected Samsung and LG televisions. The compatibility list is model- and software-dependent, so check the exact TV or tablet rather than relying on its brand alone.
Amazon states a minimum internet speed of 10 Mbps for Luna streaming and recommends wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi for best performance. The 10 Mbps figure is a minimum service threshold, not a guarantee of low latency, stable performance or a smooth experience on a congested connection. A device that meets the software requirements can still feel poor if the wireless signal is weak or the household connection is busy.
Luna’s documented browser and phone routes also mean you should not assume a dedicated Luna controller is mandatory. Choose the control method supported by your particular device and game, and confirm pairing requirements before buying an accessory.
GeForce NOW devices
NVIDIA lists computers, Macs, Chromebooks, mobile devices, selected televisions, Steam Deck, VR headsets and Linux PCs among supported endpoints. Which features are available can depend on device and region. Confirm the precise endpoint on NVIDIA’s current supported-device information; a category such as “TV” or “mobile” is not a model-level compatibility guarantee.
For a computer, check the operating system and browser or application route NVIDIA specifies. For a television or headset, verify the exact model and whether the service is delivered through a native app or another supported method. If you plan to move between a laptop and a television, check both rather than assuming that support on one endpoint carries over to the other.

Xbox lists Windows PCs, Apple and Android phones and tablets, Xbox consoles, selected LG, Samsung and VIDAA smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV and selected Meta Quest headsets. Cloud play also depends on the game and region. Xbox says console games require a compatible Bluetooth or USB controller, while support for input methods varies by game. Do not assume that a controller or touch input accepted by one title will work in another.
Controller wording is especially important for a television or phone setup. Check whether your chosen controller connects by Bluetooth or USB, whether the device accepts that connection and whether the specific game supports the input method. A compatible controller category is not a guarantee that every title offers identical control options.

Plan, price and access limits
There is no single current price comparison that applies to every market. Local currency, taxes, plan names, promotional terms and included benefits can differ, so compare the live plan pages for your country rather than relying on an old headline price. The cheapest monthly fee is not necessarily the lowest total cost if it excludes the games you want or requires a separate purchase.
For GeForce NOW, include the cost of any games you still need to buy through a supported storefront. Membership pays for the cloud hardware and streaming service; it generally does not grant ownership of the games. For Xbox Cloud Gaming, compare the Game Pass plan that actually includes cloud access, not merely a plan that lists the game for another form of play. For Luna, compare Prime membership and any additional Luna tier against the titles and devices available in your country.
Also check practical limits before subscribing: session or performance limits, the catalog’s rotation, regional restrictions and benefits unrelated to cloud play. Providers can change tiers, supported games, device lists and terms. Save the current plan page or note the date when you compare, especially if you are budgeting for a family or a long-term setup.
A practical way to choose
- Write down the games you want to play. Use a short list of specific titles, not a headline catalog total. Include the games you already own and the games you might play through a subscription. Search each title in the current catalog or supported-game list for every service you are considering.
- Identify the access condition for each game. For GeForce NOW, check that the game is supported and that you own it through a connected storefront, unless it is a supported free-to-play title. For Xbox, check whether it is cloud-playable through an eligible Game Pass plan or is one of the selected free-to-play games. For Luna, check whether it is in the offering available to your country and the tier or membership you have.
- Separate ownership from inclusion. Mark each game as “owned and supported,” “included in a catalog,” “free-to-play and supported” or “not available.” This prevents a PC purchase, a Prime claim or a Game Pass listing from being mistaken for universal cloud access.
- Confirm service availability in your country. Check the live regional information for the service itself, not just whether a game can be purchased, claimed or played locally on another platform. For Luna, determine whether your country has full cloud gaming or only claimable Prime games.
- Match the service to your exact screen. Look up the TV model, computer or mobile operating system, browser and software version. If you plan to use a headset or streaming device, check that exact model too. Keep a second device in mind if your preferred screen is not supported.
- Check the controls for the titles you care about. Xbox specifies a compatible Bluetooth or USB controller for console games, with input support varying by title. For Luna, a dedicated Luna controller is not the only documented route: browser and phone-based options are available, but confirm the supported control method for your device and game. Check each provider’s current guidance for your intended setup.
- Review the local plan and its limits before subscribing. Compare the current tier that grants access to your chosen games, any session or performance limits and benefits beyond cloud play. Plans and included catalogs are not directly interchangeable, and terms can change.
- Check your connection under realistic conditions. Luna’s stated 10 Mbps minimum is only a baseline. Amazon recommends wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi; a connection can meet the speed threshold and still perform poorly if latency, interference or congestion is high. Test from the room and device where you will actually play, and confirm each provider’s current network requirements for your location and device.
- Recheck before purchase. Catalogs, country support, browser versions, device models, controller requirements, membership terms and prices are volatile. Reopen the official game, plan and compatibility pages immediately before committing money.
Common comparison mistakes
- Using catalog totals as a personal score. More than 4,500 supported GeForce NOW games is a vendor-reported total, while Luna’s more than 60-game Standard announcement dates from September 2026. Neither number tells you whether your three favorite games are available today.
- Assuming ownership transfers between services. A game purchased for a PC storefront generally must be supported and linked for GeForce NOW. That purchase does not automatically unlock the title on Xbox Cloud Gaming or Luna.
- Confusing claimable with playable. In some countries Amazon lists Prime games that can be claimed without full Luna cloud gaming. Claiming a benefit is not the same as streaming it through Luna.
- Checking only the device brand. “Samsung TV,” “Android phone” or “Fire TV” covers many models and software versions. Use the exact model and operating-system requirements.
- Ignoring the input method. Xbox notes that controller and other input support varies by game. A setup that works for one title may not work for another.
- Treating a speed minimum as a quality guarantee. Luna’s 10 Mbps threshold does not account for latency, Wi-Fi interference or congestion. Network quality at play time matters.
Which service is the best fit?
- Choose GeForce NOW if the specific PC games you own are currently supported and you want to use connected storefront accounts rather than rely on a subscription catalog alone. It is particularly compelling when replacing a local gaming PC is the goal but you are willing to verify support title by title.
- Choose Xbox Cloud Gaming if its current cloud-eligible Game Pass catalog fits your needs, your plan grants access and you have a supported device and input method. Selected free-to-play games may be an option in supported regions without a paid Game Pass plan, but that exception is limited to the supported titles.
- Choose Luna if the Luna offering available in your country includes games you want, your Prime membership or other tier grants access and your device is supported. Confirm that your country has full Luna cloud gaming rather than only claimable Prime games, and remember that the catalog can change.
Catalog size alone cannot settle the choice: NVIDIA’s supported-game total does not establish access to a particular owned title, while subscription catalogs and benefits can change by tier and country. The useful comparison is your named games, your access rights, the local plan cost and the device you will play on.

What internet speed does cloud gaming require?
