Updated August 9, 2026. AirPods Pro 3 are not an upcoming product or a rumor: Apple announced them on September 9, 2025, and began selling them on September 19, 2025. They are Apple’s current flagship in-ear AirPods, priced at $249 in the U.S.
The biggest changes from AirPods Pro 2 are a smaller redesigned earbud, five ear-tip sizes including XXS, stronger noise cancellation, IP57 dust and water resistance, built-in workout heart-rate sensing, longer single-charge battery life, and support for Live Translation. The catch is that the charging case is rated for 24 hours with ANC, versus 30 hours for AirPods Pro 2. Several software features also reach AirPods Pro 2, so Pro 3 is not an automatic upgrade for every existing owner.
The short answer
AirPods Pro 3 are Apple’s third-generation premium true-wireless earbuds. They cost $249 in the United States, come in white only, and include a USB-C charging case with MagSafe, Qi, and Apple Watch charging support. A USB-C cable is not included.

They are also worth considering for people who use Apple’s hearing-health features or need Live Translation and have compatible hardware.
They are less compelling for an AirPods Pro 2 owner whose earbuds already fit well and who does not need heart-rate sensing, IP57 protection, or the claimed ANC improvement. Pro 2 still offers a longer total listening time with its case and receives some of the same software features.

What changed from AirPods Pro 2?
| Feature | AirPods Pro 2 | AirPods Pro 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Earbud listening time with ANC | Up to 6 hours | Up to 8 hours |
| Total ANC listening with case | Up to 30 hours | Up to 24 hours |

| Dust and water rating | IP54 | IP57 |
| Heart-rate sensing | No | Yes, for supported workout tracking |

| Noise cancellation | Previous generation | Apple claims up to twice the ANC performance |
| Hearing features | Supported with compatible software and regions | Supported with compatible software and regions |
| Live Translation | Available through compatible software support | Available with compatible hardware and software |
| Headphone chip | H2 | H2 |
This table explains why the Pro 3 is a meaningful redesign but not a complete change of platform. Apple retains the H2 chip, and software updates mean that some features are shared with AirPods Pro 2. The clearest hardware-only reasons to upgrade are the new fit, IP57 rating, heart-rate sensors, newer case UWB, and the longer eight-hour earbud rating.
Design, fit, and ear tips
AirPods Pro 3 retain the familiar stemmed AirPods Pro shape, but the earbud has a smaller body and a re-engineered internal layout. Apple says its design work used more than 10,000 ear scans, over 100,000 hours of user research, and more than 300 million data points. Those are Apple’s research figures, not independent proof that the earbuds will fit every ear.
The new tips are foam-infused silicone and are supplied in five sizes. The additional XXS option matters because an earbud that is too large can create pressure, loosen during exercise, or fail to seal correctly. Users can mix sizes between ears; there is no requirement to use the same size on both sides.
A smaller shell may help people who found AirPods Pro 2 bulky, and the extra tip size can improve the odds of finding a good seal. It does not guarantee a better fit for everyone. Ear shape, the angle of the ear canal, sweat, movement, and personal sensitivity still matter. If possible, buy from a seller with a suitable return policy and test the earbuds during the activities that matter to you.
How to test the Pro 3 seal
AirPods Pro 3 use Apple’s Acoustic Seal Test. The menu is different from the older Ear Tip Fit Test associated with earlier AirPods Pro models.
- Put both AirPods Pro 3 in your ears and connect them to an iPhone or iPad.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the information button next to your AirPods.
- Tap Acoustic Seal Test.
- Tap Continue, then tap Play.
If the result is poor, try a different size in either ear rather than automatically using the same size on both sides. A poor seal can reduce bass, passive isolation, and the perceived strength of ANC. Clean the earbuds and tip openings as well, because blocked microphones or mesh can also affect noise control.
What IP57 means
Both the earbuds and the charging case have an IP57 rating under IEC 60529. The first digit, 5, indicates dust protection but not complete dust sealing. The second digit, 7, indicates protection against temporary immersion under laboratory conditions.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
That does not make AirPods Pro 3 waterproof. Apple describes them for non-water sports and exercise. Do not swim, dive, shower with them, deliberately submerge them, or treat the IP rating as permission for repeated water exposure. Liquid damage may not be covered by warranty. Dry the earbuds and case before charging them.
Sound quality and audio features
AirPods Pro 3 use a custom high-excursion Apple driver, a custom high-dynamic-range amplifier, a multiport acoustic architecture, Adaptive EQ, and a vent system intended to help equalize pressure. The H2 chip remains the processing platform, and the wireless connection is Bluetooth 5.3.
Supported audio features include:
- Adaptive EQ
- Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking
- Studio-quality audio recording
- Active Noise Cancellation
- Transparency mode
- Adaptive Audio
Apple says the redesigned acoustic system improves bass response, soundstage, instrument separation, and vocal clarity. Those are manufacturer claims. Independent reviews are positive overall but not identical in their descriptions of the tuning. RTINGS reports strong sound and ANC while noting that Sony and Bose alternatives provide broader customization. What Hi-Fi praises the coherent and balanced presentation but points to rivals with greater total battery capacity.
In practical terms, the Pro 3 are best understood as polished, versatile earbuds rather than a pair designed around extensive manual sound tuning. They are particularly convenient if you already use Apple Music, an iPhone, Apple TV, Mac, or Apple Spatial Audio. Android listeners can use them, but the limited software control makes the value proposition less straightforward.

Lossless audio: an important qualification
Do not interpret the Bluetooth 5.3 specification as universal Bluetooth lossless audio. Apple specifically identifies AirPods Pro 3 as supporting lossless, ultra-low-latency audio when paired with Apple Vision Pro through Apple’s proprietary wireless protocol. That is different from ordinary Bluetooth playback from a phone, Mac, or Android device.

Apple’s Vision Pro and AirPods pairing guide explains the supported setup. The Pro 3 should not be advertised as providing lossless audio over every Bluetooth connection.
Active Noise Cancellation and listening modes
Apple claims that AirPods Pro 3 deliver up to twice as much ANC as AirPods Pro 2 and four times as much noise reduction as the original AirPods Pro. Apple also calls them the world’s best ANC among in-ear wireless headphones. Those statements come from Apple’s July 2025 testing under IEC 60268-24, so they are not an independently verified universal ranking.
Independent tests are also favorable. SoundGuys reported an average reduction of about 90% in the loudness of external noise in its laboratory testing, with particularly strong results against office noise and nearby speech. RTINGS likewise describes the ANC as remarkably effective. Results vary with ear shape, tip choice, seal, noise type, volume, and whether the earbuds’ microphones are clean.
The listening-mode and call-processing feature set includes:
- Active Noise Cancellation: reduces surrounding sound using microphones and signal processing.
- Transparency: lets outside sound pass through for awareness and conversation.
- Adaptive Audio: dynamically combines noise control and transparency rather than behaving like fixed maximum ANC.
- Conversation Awareness: lowers media and changes the listening experience when you start speaking.
- Loud Sound Reduction: reduces loud environmental sounds while maintaining awareness.
- Personalized Volume: adjusts media volume based on listening conditions and habits.
- Voice Isolation: helps improve voice clarity during supported calls and recordings.
Adaptive Audio can be mistaken for weak ANC because it intentionally allows more environmental sound through than full ANC. Check the selected mode before assuming there is a hardware problem.
What to do if ANC seems weak
- Confirm that Noise Cancellation, rather than Transparency or Adaptive Audio, is selected.
- Run the Acoustic Seal Test and try another tip size.
- Check that microphone openings and speaker meshes are not blocked.
- Clean the earbuds using Apple’s guidance; do not push debris into the mesh or soak the earbuds.
- Update the connected iPhone or iPad and the AirPods firmware.
- Reset and reconnect the AirPods if the problem remains.
Apple’s ANC and Acoustic Seal troubleshooting guide covers the official checks.
Battery life: longer earbuds, shorter total runtime
AirPods Pro 3 are rated for up to eight hours of listening with ANC enabled. That is two hours more than the six-hour ANC rating for AirPods Pro 2. However, the charging case is rated for up to 24 total hours with ANC, compared with 30 hours for AirPods Pro 2.
Recommended Free Tools
| Use case | AirPods Pro 3 rating |
|---|---|
| ANC enabled | Up to 8 hours |
| ANC plus Spatial Audio and head tracking | Up to 7.5 hours |
| Heart-rate sensing during workouts | Up to 6.5 hours |
| Transparency mode with Hearing Aid | Up to 10 hours |
| Earbuds plus case with ANC | Up to 24 hours |
| Five-minute quick charge | About 1 hour of listening |
The apparent contradiction is important: the earbuds last longer per charge, but the complete case-and-earbuds package lasts less between charges. That makes the Pro 3 better for a long flight or a long workout without putting the earbuds back in the case, but potentially worse for people who want the longest total runtime while traveling.
All figures are manufacturer maximums. Actual runtime can be lower with Spatial Audio, head tracking, heart-rate sensing, calls, high volume, cold temperatures, microphone use, or battery aging.
Heart-rate sensing and workout tracking
AirPods Pro 3 add optical heart-rate sensors inside the earbuds. During supported workouts, the AirPods send heart-rate and motion information to the iPhone, which uses it to calculate metrics such as calories, steps, pace, and distance. Apple supports up to 50 workout types through the Fitness experience, and compatible third-party workout apps can access the data through Apple Health permissions.
This is a workout feature, not continuous medical monitoring. The iPhone remains central to the built-in workout experience, and the feature requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later. AirPods can collect heart-rate data while only one earbud is being worn, according to Apple’s support guidance.
If you also wear an Apple Watch, both the watch and AirPods Pro 3 can provide heart-rate data. Apple automatically uses the source it considers most reliable at a given moment rather than simply combining the numbers.
How to enable heart-rate sensing
- Wear the AirPods Pro 3 and connect them to your iPhone.
- Open Settings.
- Tap the AirPods name near the top of the screen.
- Turn Heart Rate on or off.
- Start a workout in Apple Fitness or a supported third-party app.
Apple’s heart-rate support page explains the workout setup. A reading that shows dashes or is unavailable can result from poor fit, insufficient sensor contact, cold weather, earwax, moisture, skin conditions, piercings, nearby jewelry, or individual differences in blood flow. Make sure the earbuds are clean and seated securely before judging the feature.
Independent testing is encouraging but should not be turned into a medical-accuracy promise. A test summarized by Macworld compared Pro 3 readings with an Apple Watch, Garmin devices, and a chest-strap heart-rate monitor. That is useful evidence about one tester’s results, not a guarantee for every workout or user.

Live Translation
Live Translation is one of the most easily misunderstood Pro 3 features. The earbuds do not translate conversations independently. The iPhone handles the required processing, displays the translated dialogue, and sends the translated speech to the AirPods.

The currently listed AirPods Live Translation languages include simplified Mandarin Chinese, traditional Mandarin Chinese, U.K. and U.S. English, French from France, German from Germany, Italian from Italy, Japanese from Japan, Korean from South Korea, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish from Spain. Apple can change language and regional availability. Apple currently says AirPods Live Translation is unavailable in the European Union, and some support documentation lists additional restrictions such as mainland China.
How to start Live Translation
- Download the required languages in Settings > AirPods > Languages.
- Turn on Apple Intelligence on the iPhone.
- Open the Translate app.
- Tap Live.
- Choose the other person’s language and your output language.
- Tap Start Translation, use the AirPods stem gesture, or ask Siri to start it.
Apple describes generative translation as potentially inaccurate, unexpected, or offensive. It should not be relied on for safety-critical, medical, legal, or emergency communication. Downloading languages enables the supported processing workflow on the iPhone, but it does not remove the hardware, software, Apple Intelligence, or regional requirements.
See Apple’s iPhone translation guide and AirPods Live Translation guide for the current requirements.
Hearing-health features
AirPods Pro 3 support a broad set of hearing-related tools:
- Hearing Test
- Hearing Aid
- Automatic Conversation Boost
- Hearing Protection
- Live Listen
- Headphone levels
- Headphone Accommodations
These features are not identical to professional audiology care. Hearing Test and Hearing Aid availability depends on regulatory authorization and country or region. Apple describes Hearing Aid as intended for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. Anyone concerned about hearing loss, sudden changes in hearing, pain, or persistent ringing should seek professional medical advice.
Taking the Hearing Test
- Wear the AirPods Pro 3 and connect them to an iPhone or iPad.
- Open Settings.
- Tap the AirPods name.
- Tap Take a Hearing Test.
- Follow the instructions in a quiet room.
Apple says the test takes approximately five minutes and can create an audiogram that can be exported as a PDF. The exact availability and menu labels can vary by region and software version. Apple’s hearing-health guide has the current details.
Automatic Conversation Boost and Hearing Protection
When the Hearing Aid feature is active, Automatic Conversation Boost can increase the prominence of nearby speech. This is useful in ordinary conversations, but it should not be confused with a guarantee of perfect speech recognition in every environment.
Where supported, AirPods Pro 3 can offer EN 352 Protection. Apple says this setting limits media volume to 82 dBA and requires a proper acoustic seal. It is not a substitute for certified occupational hearing protection and is not intended for gunfire, fireworks, jackhammers, sustained sound above 110 dBA, or every workplace hazard. Check the applicable safety requirements for the environment rather than treating the earbuds as general-purpose protective equipment.
Controls and new gestures
The stem controls cover the familiar playback and call functions, while the Pro 3 add a camera-remote action:
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Press once | Play or pause media; answer, mute, or unmute a call |
| Press once while the camera remote is active | Trigger the camera in a compatible camera app |
| Press twice | Skip forward or end a call |
| Press three times | Skip back |
| Press and hold | Switch listening modes |
| Swipe up or down | Adjust volume |
| Nod or shake your head | Accept or decline some prompts |
| Say Siri or Hey Siri | Activate Siri where supported |
The camera remote requires compatible iPhone or iPad software and a compatible camera app. It is not a universal remote for every camera application, Android phone, or standalone camera.
Charging case, Find My, and Ultra Wideband
The charging case has a built-in speaker for Find My alerts, a lanyard loop, and a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip. With a compatible iPhone, the UWB chip supports Precision Finding to help locate the case. Apple does not promise one universal range for every iPhone model, room, or software version, so the feature should be treated as proximity finding rather than a guaranteed long-distance locator.
The case supports:
- USB-C charging
- MagSafe charging
- Qi-certified wireless charging
- Apple Watch charger charging
- Find My sound playback
- Precision Finding with compatible iPhones

Apple devices
Apple lists AirPods Pro 3 compatibility with iPhone on the latest iOS, iPad on the latest iPadOS, Apple Watch on the latest watchOS, Mac on the latest macOS, Apple TV on the latest tvOS, and Apple Vision Pro on the latest visionOS. Basic audio may work with earlier software, but Apple’s newest features generally require current operating systems.

iPhone requirements
iOS 26 supports iPhone 11 and later, as well as the second-generation iPhone SE and later. AirPods Pro 3 themselves can pair with compatible older devices, but the headline features have stricter requirements:
- Workout heart-rate tracking: an iPhone running iOS 26 or later for the built-in workout experience.
- Live Translation with AirPods: iPhone 15 Pro or later, iOS 26 or later, Apple Intelligence enabled, current AirPods firmware, downloaded languages, and a supported region.
- Apple Intelligence: supported iPhone 15 Pro models, iPhone 16 models, and newer supported devices.
- Vision Pro lossless audio: Apple Vision Pro and compatible AirPods software.
Check Apple’s iOS 26 compatibility list and Apple Intelligence device list rather than assuming that every iPhone can use every Pro 3 feature.
Android and Windows pairing
AirPods Pro 3 work with Android phones and Windows PCs as ordinary Bluetooth headphones. You can listen and make calls, but Apple says Siri is unavailable on non-Apple devices. Automatic switching, Apple Health integration, Live Translation, Find My, hearing features, and many settings depend on Apple hardware and software.
To pair with Android or another non-Apple device:
- Put both earbuds in the case and open the lid.
- Hold the case near the device.
- Double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white.
- Open the device’s Bluetooth menu and select AirPods Pro 3.
For someone who primarily uses Android, the earbuds can still deliver good sound and ANC, but the $249 price is harder to justify when competing earbuds offer a fuller cross-platform app, custom EQ, multipoint connections, and broader codec support. See Apple’s non-Apple pairing guide for the supported basics.
Firmware: current version and update process
As of August 9, 2026, Apple lists firmware version 8B41 as the latest version for AirPods Pro 3. Firmware can change after publication, so use Apple’s AirPods firmware updates page as the final authority.
There is no normal manual download button. Apple distributes AirPods firmware updates automatically. To give an update the best chance of installing:
- Update the connected iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- Turn on Bluetooth and connect the device to Wi-Fi.
- Connect the AirPods charging case to power.
- Put both AirPods in the case and close the lid.
- Keep the case near the connected Apple device for at least 30 minutes.
- Open the case and check the firmware version in the AirPods settings.
If the firmware remains unchanged, Apple recommends resetting the AirPods and repeating the process.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →How to reset AirPods Pro 3
AirPods Pro 3 use a front-case touch sequence rather than relying on the older rear-button procedure:
- Put both AirPods in the case, close the lid, and wait 30 seconds.
- If they appear in Bluetooth settings, choose Settings > Bluetooth, tap the information button, and forget the AirPods.
- Open the charging-case lid.
- Double-tap the front of the case while the status light is on.
- Double-tap the front again when the light flashes white.
- Double-tap a third time when the light flashes faster.
- Wait for the status light to flash amber, then white.
- Reconnect the AirPods to the device.
Apple’s reset instructions should take priority if the light sequence or menu labels change in a future software release.
AirPods Pro 3 versus the alternatives
AirPods Pro 3 versus AirPods Pro 2
Choose AirPods Pro 3 if you want the smaller redesigned body, the XXS tip option, stronger claimed ANC, IP57 protection, heart-rate sensing, the newer case UWB chip, or eight-hour earbud endurance with ANC.
Keep or buy AirPods Pro 2 if they fit you well, you do not need workout heart-rate sensing, and they are substantially cheaper. Pro 2 owners also get up to 30 hours of rated ANC listening with the case, compared with 24 hours for Pro 3. Updated software brings some hearing and translation capabilities to Pro 2, reducing the number of reasons to upgrade solely for those features.

Independent comparisons from What Hi-Fi and the feature history summarized by MacRumors are useful for tracking which differences are hardware changes and which are software updates.
AirPods Pro 3 versus AirPods 4 with ANC
AirPods 4 with ANC cost less—Apple lists them at $179 in the U.S.—and use an open-style fit without silicone ear tips. They are a better choice for people who dislike the sealed feeling of in-ear earbuds or want ANC at a lower price.
AirPods Pro 3 are the stronger choice for maximum passive isolation, a more secure sealed fit, the full hearing-health feature set, heart-rate sensing, IP57 protection, and the longest single-charge ANC rating. Open-fit comfort is highly personal, but it generally provides less physical isolation than a properly sealed Pro earbud.

AirPods Pro 3 versus Sony, Bose, Technics, and other rivals
Consider Sony, Bose, Technics, or another Android-focused alternative if you primarily use Android or Windows, want a full companion app with manual EQ, require multipoint connectivity between phone and computer, want broader Bluetooth codec support, or prefer a different physical design.

RTINGS describes the Pro 3 as competitive with Sony and Bose for ANC while noting that those rivals offer more sound customization and broader operating-system-agnostic support.
AirPods Pro 3 versus over-ear headphones
Choose over-ear headphones for potentially longer battery life, a larger soundstage, less pressure inside the ear canal, or extended office and travel sessions. Choose Pro 3 for portability, exercise, transparency, quick conversations, and the ability to carry the case in a pocket. Over-ear models can isolate well, but they are less convenient for running, hot weather, and quick transitions between listening and conversation.
Who should buy AirPods Pro 3?
- New iPhone buyers: They are Apple’s most capable in-ear option and offer the fullest integration.
- Frequent exercisers: Heart-rate data can be recorded without an Apple Watch, provided an iPhone and supported workout app are available.
- People who struggled with Pro 2 fit: The smaller body and five tip sizes improve the odds of a comfortable seal, though fit remains individual.
- Travelers in supported regions: Live Translation can be useful when its iPhone, language, Apple Intelligence, and regional requirements are met.
- Users with hearing-health needs: Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, Conversation Boost, and other tools may be valuable where authorized, but they do not replace professional care.
- People who need stronger durability: IP57 is a meaningful improvement for sweat and incidental exposure, but not a license to swim or shower with them.
Who should keep AirPods Pro 2?
- Your Pro 2 already fits comfortably and seals well.
- You do not need heart-rate sensing or IP57 protection.
- You care more about total case-supported battery life than maximum single-charge runtime.
- You can access the hearing or translation features you need after updating your existing earbuds.
- You can buy Pro 2 at a substantial discount.
The upgrade is much easier to justify if your Pro 2 fit is unreliable, ANC has degraded, you want workout heart-rate data, or you regularly expose the earbuds to sweat and dusty environments.

First verify the listening mode, because Adaptive Audio is not the same as maximum ANC. Then run the Acoustic Seal Test, try different tips in each ear, clean the microphones and meshes, install current software and firmware, and reset the AirPods if necessary.
Heart-rate readings are missing
Check that Heart Rate is enabled in the AirPods settings, the AirPods are connected to the iPhone, and the workout app has permission to read Apple Health data. Re-seat the earbuds and check for moisture, earwax, cold conditions, piercings, jewelry, or a poor sensor contact area.
Live Translation is unavailable
Confirm that the phone is an iPhone 15 Pro or later with iOS 26 or later, Apple Intelligence is enabled, the AirPods firmware is current, both languages are downloaded, and the feature is available in your country or region. A regular iPhone 15 does not meet the listed iPhone 15 Pro requirement for AirPods Live Translation.
AirPods work on Android but feel incomplete
That is expected. Basic Bluetooth audio and calls work, but Siri, automatic Apple-device switching, Apple Health, Find My, Live Translation, hearing tools, and many settings are unavailable or limited outside Apple’s ecosystem.
Battery life is below eight hours
Apple’s figure is an upper limit under specific conditions. Spatial Audio, head tracking, heart-rate sensing, calls, high volume, cold temperatures, microphone use, and battery age can reduce runtime. Also remember that the complete Pro 3 case rating is 24 hours with ANC, not 24 hours per earbud.

Buy AirPods Pro 3 if you use an iPhone and want the best combination of Apple integration, strong ANC, a redesigned fit, workout heart-rate sensing, hearing-health tools, and improved resistance to dust and water. They are a substantial product upgrade even though the H2 chip remains unchanged.
Do not upgrade automatically from AirPods Pro 2. If your Pro 2 already fits comfortably and its ANC, battery, and software features meet your needs, the Pro 3’s benefits may not justify the cost—especially because its case has a lower total battery rating. The upgrade becomes compelling when you specifically want the new fit, IP57 rating, heart-rate sensor, stronger ANC, or longer eight-hour earbud runtime.
Android users should compare alternatives first. The Pro 3 can be a good pair of Bluetooth earbuds, but much of what makes them worth $249 is tied to the iPhone, Apple Intelligence, Apple Health, Find My, Apple Watch, and other Apple devices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are AirPods Pro 3 waterproof?
No. They have an IP57 dust and water-resistance rating under controlled laboratory conditions, but Apple does not describe them as waterproof. Do not swim, dive, shower, deliberately submerge, or use them as if liquid damage were covered by warranty.

Do AirPods Pro 3 have lossless Bluetooth audio?
Not universally. Apple identifies lossless, ultra-low-latency audio for AirPods Pro 3 when paired with Apple Vision Pro using Apple’s proprietary wireless protocol. The standard Bluetooth 5.3 connection should not be described as lossless for every phone or computer.
Can AirPods Pro 3 replace an Apple Watch for heart-rate tracking?
They can record heart-rate data during supported workouts without an Apple Watch, but the feature requires a compatible iPhone and workout app. It is intended for exercise tracking, not continuous medical monitoring.
Are AirPods Pro 3 worth upgrading to from AirPods Pro 2?
They are most worthwhile if you want the redesigned fit, stronger claimed ANC, IP57 protection, heart-rate sensing, or longer single-charge battery life. If your Pro 2 fits well and you do not need those features, keeping it—especially if the Pro 3’s 24-hour case rating is a disadvantage—is reasonable.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: AirPods Pro 3 are a real, available $249 upgrade focused on fit, ANC, durability, workout sensing, and Apple ecosystem features. They are the best choice for many iPhone users, but not an automatic Pro 2 upgrade and not the strongest value for Android owners. Remember the central trade-off: up to eight hours from the earbuds, but only up to 24 hours with the ANC-enabled case.
