Neither the AI+ product page nor the current AI+ manual gives a standardized runtime figure. Treat the 6000 mAh number as a capacity specification rather than a promise of a particular number of hours.
Which settings should I change first?
Make the display and background changes before disabling features you actively use. The following order follows Google’s Android battery guidance while allowing for the fact that AI+ may use different menu names.

How do I tune the display for the largest practical gains?
Lower brightness or use Adaptive brightness
Open Settings > Display. Drag the brightness slider down to the lowest level that remains readable, or enable Adaptive brightness so the phone adjusts output to ambient light. A bright white screen held on for hours is usually a larger drain than a brief radio toggle, so adjust brightness before sacrificing notifications.

In the same Display area, open Screen timeout and select a shorter interval that still suits your reading habits. This prevents the AMOLED panel from remaining lit after you put the phone down. If you frequently read long articles or recipes, choose a moderate interval rather than one so short that the screen repeatedly turns off while you are using it.

Change 120 Hz only when endurance takes priority
The phone is specified with a 120 Hz display. If your software exposes a refresh-rate menu, select an adaptive or lower option for travel, standby-heavy days, or emergency battery preservation. AI+ does not document the exact label or every mode available on each regional build, so do not assume a particular switch exists; check Settings > Display on the handset.
Use Dark theme where it fits your apps
Open Settings > Display > Dark theme if that path is offered. Google lists dark theme as a battery-saving measure. Its effect depends on the app, the content on screen, and brightness, so treat it as a supporting change rather than a replacement for brightness and timeout control.
How should I use Battery Saver and Adaptive Battery?
Turn on Battery Saver for low-charge periods
Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver and enable it manually when you need to stretch the remaining charge. Android can limit background activity and may delay some features, connections, or app updates while the mode is active. That behavior is useful on a long journey, but it can make a newly received message or a background sync appear later than usual.

If Adaptive Battery appears under Battery settings, turn it on. Android uses your usage patterns to reduce activity from apps you rarely open. The setting is designed to work continuously, unlike the emergency behavior of Battery Saver.

Restrict only nonessential background apps
Review battery or app controls for applications that consume power while you are not using them. Restrict background use for rarely opened games, shopping apps, social feeds, or other software that does not need immediate updates. Keep messaging, navigation, banking, health, work-alert, and security apps unrestricted when a delayed notification could matter. If an alert stops arriving, undo that app’s restriction and test it again before blaming the phone’s battery.
Which connections and locations services should I switch off?
Hotspot
Turn off the hotspot as soon as another device has finished using it. Tethering keeps the cellular radio and Wi‑Fi hardware working together and can drain the phone quickly even when the screen is off.
GPS and location
Disable location from Quick Settings when you are not using navigation, location sharing, a fitness recording, or another location-dependent feature. Apps that need a position fix may not work correctly until you turn it back on, so this is best treated as a situational switch.
Bluetooth
Switch off Bluetooth when you are not connected to earbuds, a car, a watch, or another accessory. Leaving it on is convenient, but removing an unused radio is a simple way to reduce needless scanning.

Mobile data, 5G, and Wi‑Fi
Prefer a stable Wi‑Fi network when practical, and disable mobile data during periods when you know you will not need it. In areas with weak or constantly changing cellular coverage, the modem may work harder to maintain service. The Nova 2 Ultra 5G supports 5G, but the available network mode and the path to select LTE or another option depend on your carrier and Android build; look under Settings > Network & internet or the equivalent SIM and mobile-network menu.
Do not turn off 5G merely because the phone supports it. Compare your own usage in the same location and workload: if a weak 5G signal coincides with unusual drain, using a more stable network mode until coverage improves can be a sensible endurance choice. You give up peak 5G speed, but ordinary messaging and browsing may continue normally.
How do streaming, gaming, and sound feedback change battery use?
Google identifies streaming, moving calls, hotspot use, GPS, and constant connectivity as activities that shorten a charge. Streaming and gaming also keep the large display and processor active, so brightness, refresh rate, network quality, and heat accumulate rather than acting as isolated drains.

The AI+ manual says the phone can become warm during normal use and while charging. It warns against temperatures above 60°C, advises keeping the handset away from direct sun and hot vehicles, and recommends manufacturer-approved batteries and chargers.

- Remove intensive workloads such as gaming or navigation if the handset becomes unusually hot while charging.

- If the phone approaches the manual’s 60°C warning threshold, unplug it, move it to a cooler area, and let it return to a normal temperature before resuming use.

Heat is a battery-life issue as well as a comfort issue. A cool phone can spend more of its stored energy on your task, while a hot phone may reduce performance or charging speed to protect itself.

How do I troubleshoot unexpected battery drain?
- Check whether the screen is staying on longer than intended and confirm the timeout and brightness settings.
- Open the Battery area and, if your build provides it, inspect battery usage by app. Restrict background use only for high-use apps that do not require immediate alerts.
- Look at Quick Settings for an accidentally enabled hotspot, location, Bluetooth, or mobile-data connection.
- Compare drain in a strong-signal area with drain in a weak-signal area. A large difference points to connectivity conditions rather than the battery’s rated capacity.
- Repeat the test without streaming, gaming, or navigation. Those workloads can mask the effect of smaller settings changes.
- Check temperature and charging behavior. Persistent extreme heat, swelling, shutdowns, or charging faults warrant service from an authorized dealer rather than a software tweak.
Is turning off 5G or lowering 120 Hz worth it?
Both changes can be worthwhile when endurance is more important than peak speed or maximum smoothness, but neither should be permanent by default. Use the comparison below to choose deliberately.
