AAEON introduced the UP Squared 7100 in August 2024 with Intel Processor N97 and N100 as its default CPU choices, and said Intel Atom x7000RE (“formerly Amston Lake”) support would begin in Q1 2025. AAEON’s later product materials list x7433RE and x7835RE among the board’s options, but do not establish when compatible boards first shipped. The compact developer board is now documented with several CPU choices, onboard memory and storage, and substantial embedded I/O.
What changed between the 2024 launch and AAEON’s later listings?
At launch on August 20, 2024, AAEON described the UP Squared 7100 as an 85.6 × 90 mm developer board with N97 and N100 as default processors. Other Alder Lake-N options, including Atom x7000E and Core i3 N-series processors, were described as dependent on customer requirements. Later AAEON documentation broadens the listed processor range to N97, N100, Atom x7433RE, x7835RE, and x7425E. Its 2026 selection guide labels x7835RE “formerly Twin Lake”; that wording is specific to the guide and should not be treated as interchangeable with the 2024 announcement’s Amston Lake description. These later listings confirm that the processors appear among AAEON’s options, but do not verify the exact date compatibility first became available. Which CPU and memory/storage configurations are listed?
AAEON lists memory up to 16GB LPDDR5 and onboard eMMC storage up to 128GB. The ordering information identifies specific combinations, rather than promising every processor with every memory and storage capacity.

Check the exact order code or seller listing before purchase: the listed options do not establish an N100 16GB/128GB configuration, and the two RE processors appear in the datasheet’s processor list without corresponding combinations in the cited ordering table. What I/O and expansion does the board provide?
The UP Squared 7100 is a small board intended for embedded development and integration, not a consumer mini PC with independent performance testing established in the available sources. AAEON’s published configuration includes:

What power, cooling, and operating-system conditions matter?
AAEON specifies 12V DC input and typical power consumption of 15W–37W. It lists an optional 12V, 72W adapter; verify electrical and connector compatibility before using another supply. The manufacturer’s ordinary operating-temperature listing is 0–60°C at 0.5 airflow. A separate rating of -20–70°C applies with the WiTAS1 active cooler, so it should not be read as the board’s uncooled range. AAEON UP Squared 7100 datasheet

The datasheet lists support for Microsoft Windows 10/11, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and Yocto 5.1. It gives the board dimensions as 85.6 × 90 mm and net weight as 0.19kg. These are manufacturer-published specifications; AAEON notes that specifications may change without notice.
