Microsoft’s March 21, 2024 digital event focused on Copilot, Windows, and Surface for commercial customers and partners. Its main hardware announcements were Surface Pro 10 for Business and Surface Laptop 6 for Business, which Microsoft said would begin becoming available in April 2024.
What Microsoft announced on March 21
The event was a business-focused briefing about scaling AI with Copilot, alongside Windows and Surface. Microsoft described it as a digital event for commercial customers and partners, rather than a general consumer product showcase. Its listing invited attendees to hear about “how to scale AI in your environment with Copilot, Windows, and Surface.” Microsoft’s event announcement and Surface for Business provide the company’s event and product context.
Which Surface devices were unveiled?
Surface Laptop 6 for Business
Microsoft highlighted the Surface Laptop 6 for Business as a conventional laptop with a dedicated Copilot key. Pressing the key opens Copilot in Windows. That feature is the clearest software-related hardware distinction stated in the event announcement.
Surface Pro 10 for Business
Surface Pro 10 for Business is a detachable 2-in-1. Microsoft presented it with the new Surface Pro Keyboard as a laptop-style setup, so the keyboard is an accessory in that configuration rather than a permanently attached part of the device.
