Super Battle Golf is not playable on Nintendo Switch 2 yet. Its PC version launched February 19, 2026, and the announced Switch 2 release is scheduled for March 25, 2027, according to Gematsu’s report. While you wait, Mario Golf: Super Rush is the closest match for hectic arcade competition, Golf With Your Friends is the best large-group mini-golf option, and PGA TOUR 2K25 is the strongest native Switch 2 simulation. The remaining picks cover motion control, traditional rounds, story, roguelike challenge and golf-inspired puzzles.
This list includes both native Switch 2 games and original Nintendo Switch editions that Nintendo marks as supported on Switch 2. Compatibility does not automatically mean a Switch 2-specific graphics upgrade; Nintendo cautions that support is title-specific, so check each game’s listing before buying.

“Supported on Switch 2” in this table describes backward compatibility for the original Switch edition, not a native Switch 2 release. The distinction matters when you are comparing features, graphics and storage: only the individual product listing can tell you what Nintendo supports for that title.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is the nearest overall match because it combines conventional golf with simultaneous races, obstacles and interference. Its Battle Golf mode is analogous to the frantic premise of Super Battle Golf, but the games are separate and their rules are not identical. You are choosing the closest currently playable style, not an official substitute or a preview of Super Battle Golf’s final Switch 2 build.

1. Mario Golf: Super Rush — best arcade-party substitute
Nintendo lists Standard Golf, simultaneous Speed Golf, obstacle-filled Battle Golf and a Golf Adventure campaign. Up to four people can play on one system, with local wireless and online options also listed. Both button and motion controls are available; Nintendo describes “Simple motion or button controls” for driving and putting in its product description (Nintendo US listing).
Choose it when you want a recognizable golf course but players acting at the same time rather than waiting through a traditional turn order. Its Golf Adventure mode gives solo progression, while Battle Golf supplies the competitive chaos most likely to appeal to someone waiting for Super Battle Golf. Speed Golf adds movement and course hazards to the normal shot loop, so it feels more physical and urgent than a standard turn-based round.
Nintendo’s US page expressly lists a physical edition, making this the clearest cartridge option in the group. It remains an original Switch game marked supported on Switch 2, not a native Switch 2 edition. If you are shopping specifically for a physical copy, keep both facts next to the product link: the cartridge is confirmed, but it is not a Switch 2-native release.
What is the best mini-golf game for a big group?
Golf With Your Friends is the strongest choice for a large local or online party, provided you actually want mini-golf rather than full-length golf courses.
2. Golf With Your Friends — best for 12-player parties
The game is simultaneous mini-golf with themed courses and power-ups. Nintendo lists one to 12 players on one system and two to 12 online, numbers that make it unusually suitable for a large gathering (Nintendo US listing). Everyone plays at once, so a full lobby does not create a long succession of turns. That makes it a better fit for a party where players may be talking, rotating controllers or joining for only a few holes.
The trade-off is fundamental: this is mini-golf, not a simulation of tee shots, fairways and regulation greens. Its themed layouts and power-ups reward angle experiments and quick recovery more than club selection or realistic wind reading. Its Nintendo listing is for the original Switch version and marks it supported on Switch 2.
Do not confuse it with Super Battle Golf; the Steam storefront’s bundle listing identifies them as separate titles. If your group wants full-course golf, choose Mario Golf: Super Rush or Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots instead. If the priority is getting as many people as possible into one session, Golf With Your Friends has the clearest documented capacity.

PGA TOUR 2K25 is the clear simulation choice because it is a native Switch 2 release with a career structure, course-creation tools and advanced swing systems.
3. PGA TOUR 2K25 — best native Switch 2 simulation
Released for Switch 2 on February 6, 2026, the game includes MyCAREER, Course Designer, cross-platform online Societies, EvoSwing and Perfect Swing. 2K’s launch announcement lists 11 playable pros and 29 licensed courses (2K announcement). The publisher says, “Creative players can also design, share, and play custom courses using the enhanced Course Designer.” That gives it a much longer-term construction and progression angle than the party-focused games in this list.

Nintendo’s US listing specifies one to four players on one system and a 24.6 GB download (Nintendo US listing). Plan storage before downloading: Nintendo says ordinary microSD cards are not compatible with Switch 2, so any expansion should use a Switch 2-compatible microSD Express card. The storage figure is the listed game file size, not a promise that future updates will never change the space required.
An internet connection and a 2K Account are required for online features, including MyCAREER. 2K separately says offline modes can be played on the go, so do not assume the entire career mode works offline. Nintendo Switch Online requirements can also apply to online console play; check the current Nintendo listing and account terms before inviting friends.
This is the pick for players who want shot shaping, progression, course design and a more serious ruleset. It is less suitable if your priority is instant party chaos, a dozen-player lobby or motion-only play.
Which game offers traditional golf without a simulation learning curve?
Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots keeps the structure of a conventional round while using an approachable three-press shot system.
4. Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots — best accessible full-course rounds
Released September 5, 2025, this original Switch title is marked supported on Switch 2. Its three-press swing system separates power, accuracy and impact timing without requiring the technical swing modeling of a simulation. Challenge and Solo modes provide structured individual play, while Wacky Golf changes the rules with unusual hazards and objectives.
Nintendo lists up to four local or online players, and its local description says four people can use a single controller (Nintendo US listing). That is useful for a casual group that does not want to assemble a full controller set. The US page displays a digital edition; that page alone does not establish US cartridge availability.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Pick it for friendly rounds that still feel like golf, rather than for the real-world course and career depth of PGA TOUR 2K25. The three-press timing gives newcomers a readable skill curve, while Challenge and Wacky modes provide reasons to keep playing after a normal round.
Where can I play golf with motion controls on Switch 2?
There are two supported choices. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is the native Switch 2-exclusive option, while the older Nintendo Switch Sports provides a similar golf activity in an original Switch collection. Neither should be described as a dedicated golf simulator.
5. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort — best native motion option
Released October 22, 2026, Resort includes golf as one of 12 sports, not as 12 separate golf modes. Nintendo’s US page depicts a Joy-Con 2 golf swing and supports up to four people offline on one system (Nintendo US listing). TV and tabletop modes are listed.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

Choose Resort when the physical swing is more important than detailed golf progression, or when your group also wants the other sports in the collection. The 12-sport count describes the whole package, so do not compare it with a golf game by pretending it contains 12 golf disciplines. It is a native Switch 2 game, unlike the backward-compatible original Switch titles elsewhere on this page.

10. Nintendo Switch Sports — older motion alternative
The original Nintendo Switch Sports collection includes golf with Joy-Con motion controls and is marked supported on Switch 2 (Nintendo US listing). It is a separate, older product from the Switch 2-exclusive Resort, and their sport lineups should not be treated as interchangeable.
This is the sensible option if you already own the original collection and want motion golf without buying the newer release. It is also a reminder to read the exact product page: a compatible original Switch game can remain useful on Switch 2 even when a newer native collection exists, but compatibility does not merge the two games’ content.
What are the best alternatives for unusual golf formats?
6. Easy Come Easy Golf — a different golfer every hole
Easy Come Easy Golf’s defining idea is that you assign a different character to each hole, changing the feel of a round through team construction rather than a single permanent avatar. Nintendo lists solo play, one to four players on one system, two to four through local wireless and two to four online (Nintendo US listing). It is an original Switch game supported on Switch 2.
This makes it a useful contrast with Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots: Easy Come Easy Golf emphasizes assembling a hole-by-hole cast, while Hot Shots centers on its three-press shot system and Challenge/Solo structure. It is a good middle ground when you want arcade presentation but more structure than a short mini-golf match.
7. Golf Story — best golf adventure
Golf Story is an RPG built around golf mechanics. Its official description places eight courses inside a golfer’s story and its associated challenges; Nintendo lists one or two players on one system (Nintendo US listing). It is supported on Switch 2 as an original Switch game.
Choose it for dialogue, exploration and progression through a fictional golfing life. The eight-course story framework gives the game a clear narrative arc rather than an endless competitive ladder. It is not a replacement for an online golf party or a competitive simulation, and its two-player listing should not be read as a large local tournament mode.
8. Cursed to Golf — best solo challenge
Cursed to Golf turns golf into a roguelike. Courses are hazardous and randomly ordered, cards modify runs, and online leaderboards let you compare results. Nintendo explicitly lists one player on a single system (Nintendo US listing), so a leaderboard should not be read as live multiplayer.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Its supported-on-Switch-2 status matters mainly for portability: this is a focused solo game for repeated attempts, not a four-player couch round. The random ordering and card system make each run a problem-solving exercise, so it suits players who enjoy learning from failed attempts more than players seeking a conventional 18-hole scorecard.
9. WHAT THE GOLF? — best comedy-puzzle wildcard
WHAT THE GOLF? is explicitly a golf parody and puzzle game rather than realistic shot strategy. Nintendo lists one or two players on one system and marks the original Switch edition supported on Switch 2 (Nintendo US listing).
Expect each level to reinterpret the idea of golf instead of teaching a consistent swing. It is ideal for players who want jokes and inventive puzzles; skip it if your goal is club selection, wind reading or authentic scoring. The two-player support makes it a small-scale shared puzzle experience, not a replacement for a full multiplayer golf league.
How do native Switch 2 editions differ from supported Switch games?
Native editions are built and listed specifically for Switch 2. PGA TOUR 2K25 and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort have native Switch 2 US listings. The other games here are original Switch releases that their individual Nintendo pages mark as supported on Switch 2. That label establishes compatibility for that title, not a guaranteed resolution, frame-rate or feature upgrade.
Recommended Free Tools
Nintendo warns that original-Switch compatibility is not universal. Before purchasing, open the exact Nintendo listing for the edition you intend to buy and confirm its Switch 2 support label. A listing for an original Switch game is not evidence of a separate Switch 2 cartridge, enhanced mode or automatic visual upgrade.
Online capacity and local capacity are different specifications. Golf With Your Friends lists 1–12 on one system and 2–12 online; Mario Golf: Super Rush, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots and Easy Come Easy Golf list up to four locally, but their wireless and online options differ. Check Nintendo Switch Online requirements for the game’s online modes. PGA TOUR 2K25 additionally requires internet access and a 2K Account for online features, including MyCAREER.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is the one title here whose Nintendo US page expressly displays a physical edition. That makes it the safest choice if you specifically want a cartridge; search for “Mario Golf Super Rush Nintendo Switch physical” while keeping its original-Switch and Switch 2-supported status visible in the listing.
The US pages inspected for PGA TOUR 2K25, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots display digital editions. That does not prove cartridges are unavailable in every market, only that those pages do not establish US physical availability. Do not promise a cartridge without a separately verified listing.

How we picked these games
The selection prioritizes games with a documented golf component on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, confirmed Switch 2 support or native availability, and a distinct reason to choose them: simultaneous competition, group size, simulation depth, motion controls, story, roguelike structure or puzzle design. Player counts, modes, controls and file size come from the linked Nintendo or publisher descriptions. No performance, frame-rate, review-score or price comparison is implied, and no game or hardware was personally tested.

Which game supports the largest group?
Golf With Your Friends lists one to 12 players on one system and two to 12 online. It is mini-golf, however, rather than full-course golf.
Do Switch 2-compatible Switch games receive visual upgrades?
Not necessarily. Nintendo’s supported-on-Switch-2 label confirms compatibility for the individual original Switch title; it does not by itself promise a native port or graphical enhancement. Check each game’s current Nintendo listing for edition-specific details.
Can I play PGA TOUR 2K25’s MyCAREER without internet?
2K states that an internet connection and a 2K Account are required for online features, including MyCAREER. The publisher separately says offline modes can be played on the go, so career availability should not be assumed to be fully offline.
Which golf game has a confirmed physical Switch edition?
Nintendo’s US listing expressly displays a physical edition for Mario Golf: Super Rush. The US pages for PGA TOUR 2K25, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots display digital editions, but those pages alone do not establish whether US cartridges exist.
Are Golf With Your Friends and Super Battle Golf the same game?
No. They are separate titles. Golf With Your Friends is a mini-golf game with themed courses and power-ups; Super Battle Golf is the separate PC game awaiting its announced Switch 2 release.
Which games are native Switch 2 releases?
PGA TOUR 2K25 and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort have native Switch 2 US listings. The other games in this guide are original Switch editions marked supported on Switch 2.
Do I need a Joy-Con 2 controller to play Resort golf?
Nintendo’s Resort listing depicts a Joy-Con 2 golf swing and supports motion play, but accessory requirements can depend on the mode and setup. Check the current product and controller information for your planned configuration.
The Bottom Line
While Super Battle Golf waits for its March 25, 2027 Switch 2 release, Mario Golf: Super Rush is the closest hectic arcade alternative, Golf With Your Friends is the biggest mini-golf party, and PGA TOUR 2K25 is the native simulation pick. Resort covers native motion golf, while the supported original-Switch games fill the story, solo, comedy and traditional-round niches.
