Short answer: Yuji Itadori shares the two-stage Convergence and Piercing Blood attack with Choso and Noritoshi Kamo, but the documented technique set does not establish him as the superior Blood Manipulation user overall. Choso has the broadest recorded toolkit and the strongest stated control, while Kamo represents the disciplined hereditary style built around precision, ranged attacks and Flowing Red Scale. Yuji’s distinguishing advantage is how Blood Manipulation can complement his already exceptional physical fighting style, although the available references do not provide a complete inventory of every extension he can perform.

Spoiler warning: The comparison discusses detailed Blood Manipulation techniques and character capabilities from Jujutsu Kaisen.

The three users at a glance

All three characters are documented users of Convergence and Piercing Blood. Convergence is the compression step; Piercing Blood is the dense, high-penetration projectile released after that preparation. That shared foundation makes a direct comparison possible, but it does not make their arsenals interchangeable.

User Documented Blood Manipulation strengths Distinctive options or context What is not established
Yuji Itadori Convergence and Piercing Blood; Blood Manipulation used alongside an unusually strong close-range fighting style. His physical combat is central to how he can apply a ranged technique in a fight, but the collected technique references do not list a complete set of additional Blood Manipulation extensions. No published source in the collected references proves that Yuji has higher control, output, range or versatility than both other users.
Choso Convergence, Piercing Blood, Flowing Red Scale, and a broader offensive selection. Blood Meteorite, Supernova and the Flowing Red Scale: Stack variant; his Death Painting physiology is an important part of his blood economy. “Best overall” depends on the category being judged. No authoritative numerical ranking, blood-volume figure or win-rate statistic is provided.
Noritoshi Kamo Convergence, Piercing Blood, Slicing Exorcism and Flowing Red Scale. The hereditary Kamo-clan approach emphasizes disciplined control, precision and reliable ranged pressure. The references do not give validated comparative measurements for his accuracy, speed, damage or endurance.

How the shared techniques work

Convergence is the preparation

Convergence compresses the user’s blood into a concentrated form. It is not the projectile itself. The compression creates the condition needed for the next technique, so an opponent who recognizes the preparation may understand that a more dangerous attack is being readied.

Piercing Blood is the committed shot

Piercing Blood fires the compressed blood as a dense, penetrating projectile. The JJK Guide describes it as “the kill shot of Blood Manipulation,” but that wording belongs to a secondary reference, not to an official statement by Gege Akutami, Shueisha or VIZ. The technique is best understood tactically as a setup-dependent ranged finisher: the user must complete Convergence before taking the shot.

No reliable figure in the collected references establishes its exact velocity, maximum range, impact force or preparation time. Those values should not be borrowed from fan calculations or presented as canon statistics.

Why the sequence matters in a fight

Convergence followed by Piercing Blood creates a commitment point. The user is investing time, blood and attention in a single line of attack. That can be valuable when an opponent is exposed or held at distance, but it can also be risky against someone who is already inside striking range. The technique’s tactical value therefore depends on positioning and timing, not only on the projectile’s penetration.

Yuji Itadori: a shared technique set attached to a different fighting style

What is directly documented

The collected technique index attributes both Convergence and Piercing Blood to Yuji. That confirms that he can access the same basic compression-to-projectile pathway used by Choso and Noritoshi Kamo.

Beyond those entries, the available references do not establish a complete list of Yuji’s Blood Manipulation extensions. In particular, they do not support presenting him as a confirmed user of every technique associated with Choso or Kamo. If a move is not documented for Yuji in the cited material, it should be treated as unconfirmed rather than silently added to his arsenal.

Why his application looks different

Yuji is an exceptional physical fighter in the broader story. That gives him a different tactical baseline from a specialist whose identity is built primarily around Blood Manipulation. A Yuji comparison should therefore ask how a ranged Blood Manipulation option supports his movement and close-range pressure, rather than assuming that his version must resemble Kamo’s measured, technique-first approach.

This is a style distinction, not proof of a universal power advantage. The collected references do not quantify how much Yuji’s physical ability changes the speed, force or accuracy of his Blood Manipulation, and they do not prove that he has surpassed Choso’s control.

Yuji’s evidence-supported limitation

The most defensible description of Yuji is “a user with confirmed access to the shared core techniques whose full Blood Manipulation ceiling is not established by these references.” That wording leaves room for story developments without turning an incomplete technique list into a ranking.

Choso: the broadest documented Blood Manipulation toolkit

Control and physiology

Choso’s profile in the JJK Guide describes his control as surpassing that of the Kamo-clan sorcerers who originated the technique. This is a qualitative statement about control, not a numerical score and not a declaration that he wins every possible matchup.

Choso is also a Death Painting, so his unusual physiology belongs in any discussion of blood economy. It can change how sustainability and recovery are evaluated compared with an ordinary human sorcerer. The collected material does not publish a universal blood-volume figure, an exact regeneration rate or a rule saying that Choso can spend blood without limit. His physiology should be treated as a meaningful contextual advantage, not as an invitation to invent unlimited reserves.

Blood Meteorite

Blood Meteorite creates dense blood rounds. Its reference describes the impact as substantially harder than that of ordinary Blood Manipulation projectiles. This gives Choso a documented projectile option that does not simply repeat the Convergence-to-Piercing-Blood sequence.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The important comparison is tactical: Blood Meteorite broadens the ways Choso can threaten an opponent at range. It does not come with an authoritative damage number, guaranteed hit rate or published range in the collected material.

Supernova

The technique index lists Supernova as a Choso technique. Its presence matters because it adds another named option to his recorded arsenal, but the supplied references do not provide enough technical detail to assign exact mechanics, radius, output or setup requirements. It should be counted as documented versatility without filling in those missing specifications from speculation.

Flowing Red Scale: Stack

Flowing Red Scale manipulates blood internally to improve physical performance. The reference describes it as the bridge between ranged Blood Manipulation and close combat and distinguishes Choso’s Stack variant from Noritoshi Kamo’s standard use.

That distinction makes Choso unusual among the three comparison subjects: he has documented tools for projectile pressure, internal reinforcement and additional named attacks. It still does not make every exchange automatically favorable. A close-range enhancement has to be used in the right position, and the references do not provide a numerical multiplier for its physical boost.

Noritoshi Kamo: hereditary precision and reliable fundamentals

The Kamo-clan foundation

Noritoshi Kamo represents the hereditary, precision-oriented form of Blood Manipulation. His documented kit includes Convergence, Piercing Blood, Slicing Exorcism and Flowing Red Scale. Rather than relying on a large collection of unusual extensions, his profile demonstrates how the core technique can support controlled ranged attacks and physical enhancement.

Slicing Exorcism

Slicing Exorcism is a practical ranged cutting attack associated with Kamo and Choso. Its reference positions it as more immediately available than the Convergence-to-Piercing-Blood sequence. That difference is strategically important: Kamo can threaten an opponent with a ranged cut without treating Piercing Blood as the only way to apply pressure from a distance.

The collected material does not list Slicing Exorcism for Yuji. That is an evidence boundary, not proof that Yuji could never learn or use it in the story.

Flowing Red Scale

Kamo’s standard Flowing Red Scale turns Blood Manipulation inward to improve physical performance. It gives a hereditary technique specialist a way to connect ranged control with close combat instead of abandoning the technique when an opponent closes the distance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The references do not provide validated figures for Kamo’s speed, accuracy, durability or output. His advantage is best described as disciplined access to the fundamentals, not as a measurable statistical lead over Yuji or Choso.

Blood economy and sustainability

Choso has the clearest contextual advantage because his Death Painting physiology is specifically relevant to how blood is supplied and managed. That does not establish an infinite reserve or a fixed endurance victory. Yuji and Kamo should not be assigned exact blood limits either; the collected references do not publish comparable volumes, recovery rates or expenditure costs.

Close-range enhancement

Flowing Red Scale is the clearest documented bridge from ranged technique use to hand-to-hand combat. Choso’s Stack variant gives him an explicitly distinguished form, while Kamo has the standard version. Yuji’s exceptional physical fighting style matters to his overall combat identity, but these references do not confirm a corresponding Flowing Red Scale entry for him.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Immediate ranged pressure

Kamo and Choso have Slicing Exorcism, which the reference places as more immediately available than the Convergence-to-Piercing-Blood sequence. Yuji is confirmed for Piercing Blood, but no collected entry gives him that additional ranged cutting option.

Projectile variety

Choso leads the documented category. In addition to the shared Piercing Blood, he has Blood Meteorite and Supernova. Kamo has Slicing Exorcism alongside the shared techniques. Yuji’s confirmed list is narrower in the collected index, so it would be inaccurate to claim equal variety without another specific source.

Control

Choso has the strongest explicit control claim: the JJK Guide says he surpasses Kamo-clan sorcerers. Kamo’s hereditary training supports a precision-oriented interpretation, but no numerical test compares his control with Choso’s. Yuji’s growth should be discussed from cited story evidence rather than assumed from his overall strength.

Setup and commitment

Piercing Blood is shared, so all three users face the same basic tactical question: can they complete Convergence and fire before the opponent interrupts, moves or changes position? Choso’s additional techniques can reduce dependence on that single sequence. Kamo’s Slicing Exorcism can provide a more immediate ranged response. Yuji can potentially use the shared projectile as part of a broader physical game, but the references do not establish a unique Yuji setup time.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How the matchups should be interpreted

Yuji versus Choso

This is not simply “new user versus veteran.” Choso has the documented advantages of broader projectile variety, unusual physiology, Flowing Red Scale: Stack and the strongest explicit control statement. Yuji’s relevant counterweight is his exceptional physical fighting style combined with confirmed access to Piercing Blood.

A fair analysis should separate the question “Who has the broader Blood Manipulation toolkit?” from “Who is more dangerous in a particular exchange?” The first answer favors Choso on the documented record. The second depends on distance, whether Convergence can be completed, how effectively close-range pressure is maintained and how much weight the analysis gives to Yuji’s non-technique physical abilities.

Yuji versus Noritoshi Kamo

Kamo has a more fully documented traditional kit: Convergence, Piercing Blood, Slicing Exorcism and Flowing Red Scale. Yuji has the same documented Convergence and Piercing Blood core but a different overall combat profile because of his physical style.

At long range, Kamo’s additional cutting option gives him more documented ways to apply pressure. At close range, the comparison turns on positioning and execution rather than on an unsupported claim that either character has universally higher output. The collected references do not provide accuracy, speed or damage measurements that could settle every scenario.

Choso versus Kamo

Choso has the wider named arsenal and the explicit control advantage over Kamo-clan sorcerers in the JJK Guide profile. Kamo’s strengths are disciplined use of the hereditary fundamentals and access to Slicing Exorcism and standard Flowing Red Scale.

Calling Choso “the best overall” is reasonable only as an interpretation of breadth and stated control, not as an official numerical ranking. A narrowly defined question—such as immediate ranged cutting, clan technique form or a specific battlefield distance—can produce a different practical emphasis.

What the available evidence does not prove

  • It does not provide authoritative numbers for projectile velocity, maximum range, impact force, blood volume, regeneration or win rate.
  • It does not prove that Yuji universally surpasses Choso or Kamo in every Blood Manipulation category.
  • It does not establish that Choso has limitless blood or that Death Painting physiology removes every cost of using the technique.
  • It does not give a complete list of every Blood Manipulation extension Yuji can perform.
  • It does not turn a secondary reference’s descriptive language into a quotation from Gege Akutami or an official Shueisha/VIZ databook.

These limits matter because power-scaling arguments often combine confirmed techniques with inferred statistics. A reliable comparison keeps the documented move list separate from speculation about speed, output or hypothetical upgrades.

A practical framework for comparing Blood Manipulation users

  1. List confirmed techniques first. Separate shared moves from techniques documented for only one character.
  2. Mark the setup requirement. Convergence must precede Piercing Blood, while Slicing Exorcism is described as more immediately available.
  3. Check the user’s physiology. Choso’s Death Painting body changes the blood-economy discussion, but no universal numerical reserve is established.
  4. Separate range from close combat. Piercing Blood and Slicing Exorcism create ranged pressure; Flowing Red Scale supplies an internal close-range enhancement.
  5. Count options, not imagined statistics. Choso’s Blood Meteorite and Supernova demonstrate documented variety, but they do not come with official damage values in the collected references.
  6. State the comparison axis in the verdict. “Best control,” “broadest toolkit” and “most dangerous in a close exchange” are different conclusions and should not be collapsed into one unsupported ranking.

Further reading and terminology

Readers who want an official terminology reference can consult Jujutsu Kaisen: The Official Anime Guide: Season 1, listed on VIZ’s official Jujutsu Kaisen page. That guide is useful for basic series terminology, but the specific comparative claims above should still be attributed to the individual technique and character references rather than treated as official numerical rankings.

Final verdict

Choso has the strongest documented case for the most complete Blood Manipulation arsenal: he shares Convergence and Piercing Blood, adds Blood Meteorite and Supernova, uses Flowing Red Scale: Stack and is explicitly described as having control beyond Kamo-clan sorcerers. Noritoshi Kamo is the clearest example of the hereditary precision model, with Slicing Exorcism, Piercing Blood and standard Flowing Red Scale. Yuji has the shared Convergence-and-Piercing-Blood core and a distinctive physical fighting style, but the available references do not justify declaring him superior to both veterans across the board.
