If the error remains, check YouTube Studio for a live-stream restriction or strike instead of deleting more archives.
First, confirm which limit or error you hit
Open YouTube Live Control Room and read the exact error shown beside the Health Indicator. YouTube says stream errors appear there with a timestamp. The wording “Daily live stream limit achieved” identifies a creation-limit issue: YouTube limits how many streams a channel can create within a 24-hour period. The public help guidance does not give a numeric daily quota or a specific reset hour. YouTube Help: Live streaming error messages.
If the message differs, do not assume the daily quota is responsible. A restriction, eligibility issue, or concurrent-stream limit can also prevent a stream from starting.
If the error says “Daily live stream limit achieved”
- Wait 24 hours, then try again. YouTube’s stated guidance for reaching the daily limit is to try again in 24 hours. It does not specify the exact time the window resets, so do not rely on a particular clock time.
- Retry from the affected channel. Check Live Control Room for the current error. The documentation does not state whether a scheduled, failed, quickly ended, or deleted broadcast counts toward the quota, so there is no reliable way to calculate the remaining allowance.
- If the error continues, check channel notices. Open YouTube Studio and review any live-stream restriction, strike, or other notice. A restriction can be temporary or permanent, and it is a separate issue from the daily creation limit. Follow the instructions YouTube provides for resolving or appealing the specific notice. Why deleting the broadcast did not reset the limit
YouTube’s instructions for archives describe deleting an ended stream as video management in Studio. They do not say that deleting an archive returns a stream attempt or resets the daily creation limit. The error appearing after deletion may be a timing coincidence; the official guidance does not establish that deletion caused the limit or can clear it. Deleting additional completed broadcasts is therefore not a documented fix. If you need to remove an archive, manage it for that purpose—but use the error message and Studio notices to diagnose whether you can stream again.
Check for a restriction, eligibility issue, or concurrency limit
Live-stream restriction or copyright strike
In YouTube Studio, review channel notices and strikes for a restriction affecting live streaming. YouTube’s copyright guidance also directs creators to Studio to check for strikes and address listed issues. Follow the resolution instructions shown for your account: waiting out a daily quota will not itself resolve a separate restriction. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.

Do not try to get around an active restriction by streaming from another channel. YouTube prohibits using another channel to live stream while restricted and identifies this as circumvention that may lead to account termination. YouTube Help: Avoid restrictions on YouTube live streaming.
Verification and recent restriction history
YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance separately says a channel needs to be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the prior 90 days. Check the channel’s eligibility if you are setting up live streaming or the error is not the daily-limit message. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.

Too many active streams
YouTube documents a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are concurrent-stream limits, not the daily creation quota. Check for streams that are still active and confirm whether your setup is reusing a stream key across multiple active streams. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
