Confirming your identity for YouTube’s advanced features does not, by itself, guarantee that live streaming is enabled. Check the affected channel’s Feature eligibility page in YouTube Studio, confirm phone verification and channel ownership, and look for a live-stream restriction in the past 90 days. YouTube lists live streaming on a computer as an intermediate feature, with separate requirements possible for other features and methods.
Why identity confirmation may not enable live streaming
YouTube separates phone verification, advanced-feature access, and live-stream eligibility. Phone verification unlocks intermediate features. Advanced access can follow sufficient channel history or an ID or video check when YouTube offers those options. But YouTube lists live streaming on a computer under intermediate access, not as an advanced feature. Some features have their own eligibility requirements.
There is also a separate channel-status condition: YouTube says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days to live stream. So an identity check can succeed while live streaming remains unavailable for another reason. (YouTube feature access; YouTube live-streaming tips)
Check these items in order
- Open the Feature eligibility page for the correct channel. On a computer, go to YouTube Studio → Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility. YouTube displays “Enabled” beside features available to that channel and shows the steps for access. If you manage more than one channel, make sure Studio is showing the one you intend to stream from. (YouTube: Learn about feature access for YouTube Creators)
- Confirm phone verification. Phone verification is the gateway to intermediate features, including computer live streaming in YouTube’s feature table. YouTube’s verification instructions provide a code by text or voice call; if neither arrives, the carrier may not support Google’s messages or calls. Check the verification status for the channel you are trying to use. (Verify your YouTube account)
- Check the streaming method. YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder streaming. The feature-access table specifically identifies computer live streaming; it does not mean that every streaming method has identical requirements. Check the status and prompts relevant to the method you are attempting. (YouTube feature access; YouTube live-streaming tips)
- Look for a live-stream restriction or policy notice. YouTube’s stated rule is no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, along with a verified channel. Review YouTube Studio for an active limitation or policy message and use the specific notice to determine what applies; identity confirmation does not remove a restriction. (YouTube live-streaming tips)
- Verify that you are using the right account role. For additional-feature identity verification, YouTube says only the primary channel owner can complete the check. If the channel is a Brand Account or shared channel, sign in as its primary owner. YouTube says the message “Advanced YouTube features aren’t available for this account” can indicate that the signed-in account is not the primary owner. (Get access to intermediate and advanced features)
- Use the advanced-access route YouTube actually offers. If advanced access is still pending, YouTube describes two routes after phone verification: build sufficient channel history, or complete an ID or video check if that option is available. ID and video verification are not offered to every creator. YouTube also says Community Guidelines compliance and positive channel history affect eligibility and continued access. (YouTube access requirements)
How to interpret what you find
- Computer live streaming is not enabled: follow the Feature eligibility steps shown for that channel, including phone verification if requested.
- Advanced features are unavailable to your account: check that you are signed in as the primary owner, then use the channel-history route or an offered identity check.
- Live streaming appears enabled but starting a stream is blocked: check the exact Studio notice and whether the channel has had a live-stream restriction within the preceding 90 days.
- You are trying to stream from a phone, webcam, or encoder: do not infer that the computer-streaming feature status settles eligibility for every method; check the method-specific prompts and requirements.
The status, restriction history, account role, and method are channel-specific. YouTube’s guidance does not establish a universal wait time for this exact situation, so a fixed number of hours or days would not be a reliable promise.

StreamNeo is not an eligibility fix
StreamNeo cannot enable YouTube live streaming, verify a channel, or remove a restriction. If your channel is already eligible and your goal is to keep uploaded videos running as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It runs with your computer off, streams uploaded video at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the monthly plan is $9.99 per month. This service is for uploaded videos on YouTube, not for going live from a camera. Start a free day with StreamNeo.
