For a prerecorded Bengali video made at 1280 × 720 and 25 fps, keep the live output at 720p progressive, 25 fps. YouTube does not publish a dedicated 720p25 live-bitrate row; its nearest reference is 720p30. For H.264, that row recommends 8 Mbps and lists 3 Mbps as the minimum. Treat those as reference values, not an exact 720p25 prescription, and test the stream on the connection you will use.
Recommended settings at a glance
| Setting | Recommended value | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1280 × 720, progressive, 25 fps | Match the finished video’s frame rate. YouTube lists 25 fps as a common upload frame rate, but its live bitrate table uses a 30 fps row for 720p. YouTube live encoder settings; YouTube upload encoding guidance. |
| Video codec | H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 | These are supported ingest codecs. H.264 is a broadly compatible option, not a requirement. |
| Video bitrate | H.264: 8 Mbps recommended, 3 Mbps minimum; AV1/H.265: 6 Mbps recommended, 2 Mbps minimum | These are YouTube’s 720p30 live reference figures, not a 720p25-specific prescription. Choose a rate your upload connection can sustain and verify with a test. |
| Rate control | CBR | Use constant bitrate in the encoder. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds; no more than 4 seconds | Set this in the encoder’s keyframe or GOP interval control. |
| Protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; prefer RTMPS | RTMPS encrypts the connection in transit. |
| Stereo audio | AAC or MP3; 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps in YouTube’s advanced guidance | For 5.1 audio over RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube supports AAC and lists 48 kHz at 384 kbps. |
| SDR advanced video | Rec. 709, square pixels, progressive scan, two B-frames, one reference frame, CABAC | Use these advanced values where your encoder exposes them. |
YouTube’s published guidance does not give these bitrate values a publication or revision year. They are the figures available as checked on October 3, 2026.
Configure the prerecorded video as a live stream
- Prepare the source. Confirm that the finished video is 1280 × 720 progressive at 25 fps. Preserve 25 fps rather than converting it to 30 fps just to match the nearest live-bitrate row.
- Create the YouTube event. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Set its title, privacy, and other metadata for the event. There is no special Bengali encoder setting in the cited guidance.
- Connect your encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the software that will play and send the video. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your event.
- Set video output. Choose H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 if your encoder and workflow support it. Set CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and the appropriate bitrate. For H.264, use 8 Mbps as the nearest-row recommendation; for AV1 or H.265, the corresponding 720p30 recommendation is 6 Mbps. The table does not establish exact 720p25 live values.
- Set audio and advanced SDR options. Choose AAC or MP3 audio. For stereo, YouTube’s advanced guidance lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. If available, use Rec. 709, square pixels, progressive scan, two B-frames, one reference frame, and CABAC for SDR.
- Run a test before the event. Test with representative motion and audio, check that the upload connection can sustain the selected bitrate, and watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and messages while transmitting. YouTube does not specify a fixed upload-speed reserve percentage in the cited guidance.
- Schedule for discovery if useful. A scheduled stream may appear to subscribers as upcoming, and viewers may select “Notify me.”
Why 720p25 bitrate needs an approximation
YouTube’s live encoder table has no 720p25 entry. Its closest 720p reference is 720p30: H.264 is listed at 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended, while AV1 and H.265 are listed at 2 Mbps minimum and 6 Mbps recommended. Keep the frame rate at the source’s 25 fps and use the nearest-row bitrate only as a starting reference.
Do not use the upload bitrate table as a substitute for live ingest settings. YouTube lists 5 Mbps for 720p SDR uploads at standard frame rates including 25 fps; that figure applies to uploaded video files, not an encoder’s live feed.

Choose a bitrate your connection can hold
The recommended reference bitrate is useful only if the encoder can send it consistently. Test on the actual connection and inspect stream health. If the feed reports instability or drops, reduce the bitrate and test again; do not assume a particular upload-speed margin, because YouTube’s cited instructions specify none. Picture complexity and movement can affect the appearance of a compressed stream, so include representative sections of the Bengali program in your test.
Latency and scheduled playback
Latency is the delay between capture by the encoder or camera and playback for viewers. YouTube notes that lower latency can increase playback buffering, and that low latency matters less when a creator is not interacting with viewers. For a one-way prerecorded program, reliability is usually more important than minimizing that delay; this is an inference from YouTube’s stated trade-off, not a separate platform rule.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Bengali language need a special YouTube Live encoder setting?
No special Bengali setting is identified in YouTube’s cited general encoder guidance; configure the feed for its video and audio format.
Can I use 25 fps even though YouTube’s 720p live bitrate row says 30 fps?
Yes. Keep the source’s 25 fps; the 720p30 bitrate is only the closest published reference, not an exact 720p25 specification.
