If you want to manage prerecorded videos for a YouTube Live broadcast in a browser, first distinguish editing a scheduled playlist from rotating videos during an active live stream. OneStream Live documents dashboard editing for scheduled playlist broadcasts. LiveScheduler documents recurring broadcast creation and calendar management, but says it does not deliver or manage the live stream. The available documentation does not confirm that either tool rotates a playlist inside an already-running broadcast.
What “playlist rotation” can mean
The phrase can describe two different jobs, and the distinction determines which kind of software you need:
- Scheduled playlist management: choose or edit prerecorded videos and broadcast details before a scheduled playlist broadcast starts.
- Recurring broadcast scheduling: create repeated YouTube Live events and manage their dates in a calendar.
- Active-stream rotation: change which video is playing while a single YouTube Live broadcast remains in progress.
The first two capabilities are documented by the tools below. The cited product documentation does not establish the third. A scheduled event, its stream, and the software sending audio and video are related but distinct parts of the YouTube Live workflow.
Compare the documented dashboard options
| Option | What the dashboard documents | Who handles the live delivery? | Evidence for rotation during an active broadcast |
|---|---|---|---|
| OneStream Live | Editing scheduled playlist content, social destinations, stream details, and broadcast details before the broadcast goes live. Its Help Center article was last updated August 6, 2026. | The cited article documents scheduled playlist editing; it does not establish that the dashboard itself rotates video inside an ongoing stream. | Not established by the cited documentation. |
| LiveScheduler | Recurring YouTube broadcast creation, recurrence rules, and a dashboard calendar. Its documentation describes creating broadcasts through the YouTube Data API and states a limit of up to 100 YouTube live occurrences from one rule. | The user starts separate streaming software; LiveScheduler says it does not stream the live itself or manage in-progress or ended streams. | Not established by the cited documentation. |
These are complementary rather than interchangeable capabilities: OneStream Live documents editing a scheduled prerecorded playlist broadcast, while LiveScheduler documents event recurrence and calendar management. Neither description should be read as proof of continuous, in-progress playlist rotation.

How YouTube’s event and stream fit together
YouTube’s API distinguishes a liveBroadcast, the event, from a liveStream, the stream resource that carries audio and video. Its API supports creating, binding, updating, and transitioning broadcasts; those operations do not by themselves establish that a playlist is being rotated by a dashboard.
For an encoder-based workflow, YouTube Help instructs creators to schedule in YouTube Studio, then enter the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into an encoder and start it. That makes the encoder—or another service explicitly responsible for sending the video—a separate part of delivery, rather than a function to assume from a scheduling calendar.

YouTube Help also says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That is an archiving statement, not a guarantee about playlist continuity or rotation.
Choose the workflow that matches your goal
You only need to change a scheduled playlist
Use a tool whose documentation explicitly supports editing scheduled playlist broadcasts. OneStream Live’s Help Center describes changing playlist content and related destination, stream, and broadcast details in its web dashboard before the scheduled broadcast goes live. Check the current product workflow for the controls and timing available to your account.

You need recurring events on a calendar
LiveScheduler documents recurrence rules and a calendar for YouTube broadcasts. Treat it as an event-scheduling layer: its documentation says you still start streaming software as usual, and that it does not manage a stream once it is in progress or ended.
You need the video to change while one live stays on
Do not choose a scheduler solely because it can repeat event creation, or a playlist editor solely because it can edit a scheduled playlist. Ask the vendor specifically whether the product changes the media source inside the same active YouTube broadcast, how transitions work, and what happens if the stream disconnects. The documentation cited here does not confirm that capability for either named tool.

Keep a YouTube Live playlist compliant
Playlist management does not change the rights or monetization rules that apply to the videos. Before scheduling or looping material, make sure you have the necessary rights to every video and audio track, including music, images, and third-party clips. A dashboard’s ability to schedule or edit content is not confirmation that the content is authorized or eligible for monetization. Review YouTube’s current policies for copyright, live streaming, and reused content before broadcasting.

Questions to settle before choosing
- Does the tool edit a playlist before a broadcast, create recurring events, or switch media during an active stream?
- Does it send the live video itself, or do you need to start and maintain a separate encoder?
- Can you confirm the exact behavior for stream interruptions, event transitions, and playlist changes from current product documentation?
- Do you have rights to all scheduled or looped video and audio, and have you checked YouTube’s current content policies?
