For a Hindi study-music livestream, choose a bitrate that matches your resolution, frame rate, and codec; use a 2-second keyframe interval and constant bitrate (CBR); and test the complete audio-and-video feed on the connection that will carry it. For H.264, YouTube recommends 10 Mbps for 1080p30 or 6 Mbps for 720p30/60, plus 128 Kbps stereo audio. A continuous stream has an important catch: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so keep a local recording if you need a replay.
Recommended settings for a Hindi study-music livestream
These are YouTube’s general live-encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a specific computer, encoder, network, or music track is suitable. Check the current recommendations for your chosen codec and frame rate in YouTube’s encoder settings.
| Setting | Practical choice | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS where your encoder supports it | YouTube supports RTMP and RTMPS, and recommends RTMPS. |
| Video codec | H.264 for a broadly supported starting point | YouTube also documents H.265/HEVC and AV1. Confirm that your encoder and workflow support the codec you select. |
| Video rate control | CBR | YouTube recommends constant bitrate for live encoding. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends 2 seconds and says not to exceed 4 seconds. |
| Video bitrate, H.264 | 1080p30: 10 Mbps; 720p30 or 720p60: 6 Mbps | These are YouTube’s recommended examples. Other resolutions, frame rates, and codecs have different recommendations. |
| Stereo audio bitrate | 128 Kbps | YouTube’s recommended stereo audio bitrate. |
Choose 720p or 1080p for the visual you actually have
Study music often needs little visual detail beyond a readable title card, artwork, or calm background. If that is your format, 720p may be adequate; use 1080p if your visuals benefit from the additional detail. The bitrate examples above are H.264 settings, not universal values. Do not apply them unchanged to a different codec or frame rate.
Set the audio deliberately
Use a clean source file and check the whole playback chain for clipping, silence, unwanted gaps, or a channel playing at the wrong level. YouTube’s 128 Kbps recommendation is for stereo audio; it is not a substitute for listening to the actual stream preview. Test with audio and movement similar to your intended broadcast.

Configure the stream in YouTube and your encoder
- Create or schedule a live stream. Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the broadcast. Use the stream URL and stream key shown there in your encoder. Exact screen labels can change, so follow the values displayed for the stream you created.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace it in the encoder.
- Set the encoder. Choose RTMPS if available, select a supported video and audio codec, set CBR and a 2-second keyframe interval, then enter the bitrate appropriate for the selected codec, resolution, and frame rate.
- Check the connection budget. YouTube says total stream bitrate must not exceed available upload bandwidth and recommends 20% headroom. For example, a 10 Mbps video setting plus audio needs more than 10 Mbps of available upload capacity; leave additional room rather than sizing the connection exactly to the encoder total. Shared networks may limit the capacity available to your device.
- Preview before going live. Check that the image, audio, levels, and stream health look right in Live Control Room. A static image test alone does not verify music playback, loop transitions, or recovery after an interruption.
- Monitor the live feed. Watch stream health and quality after starting, and check again after any network or encoder change.
YouTube’s Streaming tips discuss upload capacity and network stability. A wired connection can be considered where practical, but Ethernet is not a YouTube requirement and does not guarantee uptime. Network disruption can break a stream.
Choose latency and replay expectations
Latency for non-interactive study music
If you are not responding to chat or taking requests in real time, low latency is usually less important than steady playback. YouTube notes that lower latency can mean more buffering. DVR, when enabled, lets viewers pause and rewind, but it does not turn a long livestream into a guaranteed complete replay.

Do not rely on YouTube to archive a 24-hour stream
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That means a 24/7 broadcast should not be treated as one reliably saved video. If you need an archive, make a local recording backup and check the recording process independently.
Clear music rights before broadcasting
Confirm that you have permission for every recording and composition you play, including the intended live broadcast and any retained archive. YouTube’s livestream terms put that responsibility on the creator, including music licensing rights. A setting in Live Control Room or an encoder does not grant music rights. Use original material or a license whose terms expressly cover the uses you plan; do not assume that crediting an artist is permission.

YouTube’s livestream terms state that creators represent and warrant that they have the necessary rights for live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.
Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
- Stream will not connect: Confirm that the encoder has the current stream URL and key from Live Control Room, that the key has not been reset, and that the selected ingest protocol is supported by the encoder.
- Unstable stream or dropped connection: Check actual upload capacity and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. Look for other devices or applications sharing the connection. A network disruption may interrupt the broadcast.
- Buffering or poor playback: Check stream health, encoder output, and whether the upload connection can sustain the chosen bitrate. If the stream is non-interactive, consider standard rather than lower latency; YouTube notes lower latency can increase buffering.
- Audio is silent, clipped, or inconsistent: Listen to the Live Control Room preview and test representative music, transitions, and levels before relying on a long run. Verify the encoder’s audio source, codec, and stereo output.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Use a local recording backup when a replay matters rather than expecting one complete 24-hour archive.
- Unexpected music claims or restrictions: Recheck that permissions cover the specific recording, composition, live use, and archive. Platform settings do not replace a license.
Run the stream yourself or use a cloud service
Do-it-yourself: keep an encoder and connection running
With a local encoder, your computer, encoder process, and internet connection must remain available for the broadcast. Use the setup steps above, test the actual loop and audio path, and plan how you will notice and respond to a stopped encoder or failed connection. A laptop going to sleep, a restart, power interruption, or network outage can stop the feed; test your recovery procedure rather than assuming it will resume unattended.
