First identify which playlist is repeating: a playlist you are watching on YouTube, or the prerecorded-video source feeding a 24/7 livestream. For viewer playback, set repeat to the whole playlist rather than the current video. For a livestream, check the encoder or hosted service’s source sequence; the watch-page loop control cannot change what your channel broadcasts.
Work out which playlist is repeating
- Viewer playlist: You are watching a list of YouTube videos, and one item keeps replaying instead of the list advancing or restarting.
- Livestream source playlist: You operate a live channel that plays prerecorded videos, and the outgoing broadcast keeps showing one file. That sequence is controlled by the encoder or hosted broadcasting service, not the YouTube viewer’s loop setting.
YouTube documents viewer playback controls and live-stream setup as separate workflows. YouTube Help’s loop instructions cover playback, while its live-streaming setup guidance describes streaming through an encoder.
If you are watching a YouTube playlist
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist box and select its Loop control.
- Check that the control is set to repeat the playlist, not only the current video. YouTube distinguishes the two behaviors; its Help page says of looping, “The video will repeat continuously.”
On a TV or game console, select the playlist and choose Repeat until the control reads Repeat • Playlist. If it indicates repeat for the current video instead, change that state. Exact controls vary by device; YouTube provides steps for computer, mobile, TV, and game-console playback in its looping guide.
If you operate the 24/7 livestream
Inspect the source that sends video to the live broadcast. Changing a viewer’s playlist-repeat setting will not change the files an encoder or hosted broadcaster sends.

- Inspect the source sequence. Open the playlist or file list in your encoder or hosted service. Confirm the intended videos are present and ordered as expected.
- Check what happens at the end of a file. Verify that the source is configured to continue to the next file, and that the overall sequence is set to continue or restart as intended.
- Watch the outgoing feed across a file boundary. If the feed returns to the same item when a file ends, the repeated sequence is likely upstream in the source workflow. If the source changes correctly but your viewing experience still appears stuck, investigate the viewer playback separately.
- Separate source setup from broadcast setup. YouTube documents encoder streaming as a way to send a live feed. Its API documentation describes a continuous-feed workflow using a
liveStreamresource bound toliveBroadcastresources, including a 24/7-feed example. These describe broadcast resources, not a universal playlist menu for every encoder. See Google for Developers’ live-streaming API guide.
Local encoder or hosted broadcaster?
With a local encoder, the playlist runs through your own computer and encoder configuration. With a hosted broadcaster, the service runs the prerecorded-video sequence. The exact controls depend on the product: YouTube’s documentation does not establish one universal fix or menu path for every third-party encoder or hosted service.
A hosted option such as Streamloop describes broadcasting prerecorded playlists as a continuous livestream, with files arranged in sequence or shuffled. That is the provider’s description of its own service, not independent evidence of performance or reliability. Check its current terms and confirm it supports your particular workflow before relying on it: Streamloop.

If these checks do not isolate the problem, identify the device if you are watching, or the encoder/hosted service and its playlist settings if you operate the channel. Without that information, a specific menu fix cannot be established.
