What XSplit Broadcaster offers—and what it costs
XSplit’s official pricing page lists a free plan that streams up to 720p without a watermark. It also lists paid monthly, yearly and lifetime options as shown above. The vendor says Premium includes simultaneous broadcasting and commercial use; confirm current plan details before paying, since features and prices may change. These published USD amounts do not establish what an Indian buyer will pay after checkout taxes or other charges.
XSplit’s product page lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a second-generation Core i5 or equivalent, and DirectX 10.1-capable GeForce/Radeon-class graphics as minimum requirements. Account for the whole cost in India
A free local encoder does not make continuous streaming cost-free: the operator provides the computer, electricity, broadband upload and monitoring. Set up a local YouTube encoder correctly
- Confirm the source and rights. Decide whether you are sending a camera/screen feed or prerecorded media. Use only content you have the necessary rights to stream, and comply with YouTube’s applicable rules; see YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
- Prepare the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow. Open the stream’s encoder settings and copy its server URL and stream key. The precise UI labels may vary as YouTube updates Studio; YouTube’s current instructions are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Protect the stream key. Paste the server URL and key into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, show it on screen or send it to anyone who should not control the stream. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Use RTMPS where supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. Select the RTMPS server address when offered by the encoder and stream configuration. YouTube lists H.264, H.265 and AV1 among supported encoder video codecs; use settings supported by both your encoder and stream configuration.
- Match quality to measured upload capacity. YouTube recommends testing the connection and choosing settings that the upload link can sustain reliably. Its H.264 guidance recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 6 Mbps for 720p60. These are encoder recommendations, not proof that an ISP connection can hold that rate continuously; leave headroom for network variation and other household traffic.
- Start the encoder and verify the preview. Start streaming in the encoder, then confirm YouTube receives a healthy signal and the expected picture and audio before going live. Monitor the live dashboard and the actual connection, especially during initial setup.
For YouTube’s bitrate recommendations by resolution, frame rate and codec, use Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Published bitrate numbers are a starting point; a speed test and sustained real-world stability matter more than a single peak result.

Plan for 24/7 operation and YouTube archive limits
A local stream has several dependencies
With OBS or XSplit, unattended operation depends on the encoder computer, power, network connection and software all continuing to work. A UPS may help with a brief power interruption, but cannot fix an ISP outage or encoder failure. This is an optional mitigation, not a substitute for monitoring or a recovery plan.

Do not promise a complete 24/7 VOD
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For longer streams, capture is not guaranteed; its help page warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable on very long streams. If an archive matters, retain the original recordings and plan separate recordings or shorter sessions rather than relying on a 24/7 live archive.
Troubleshoot common 24/7 streaming problems
- YouTube receives no signal: Check that the encoder is actively streaming, the correct server URL and current stream key are entered, and the stream is set up in the intended YouTube account. Replace an exposed or reset key in both places.
- Stream disconnects or buffers: Test upload performance over time, lower bitrate or resolution to a rate the connection can sustain, and reduce competing network traffic. YouTube’s suggested bitrate is not a guarantee of stable ISP service.
- Video quality is poor or unstable: Confirm the encoder output matches the chosen resolution, frame rate and codec settings, then compare the bitrate with YouTube’s recommendations. Avoid selecting a quality based only on the computer’s capability; upload capacity is equally important.
- Local stream stops when nobody is present: Check power settings, sleep/hibernation, software updates or restarts, encoder errors and internet interruptions. Local encoding needs an available computer and connection; a free encoder is not an unattended cloud service.
- The live stream exists but no full replay appears: A stream over 12 hours may not be archived, and DVR rewind may be limited. Keep source files and make separate recordings if replay availability is essential.
