It is a preview build based on Windows 11 version 25H2, delivered through an enablement package; Microsoft cautions that Insider features may change or never ship beyond the program.
What changed in Build 26220.9587?
Microsoft’s Windows Insider Program release notes document three changes in this Beta build: updated text shaping for Unicode 17.0, performance work on the Settings home page, and an easier-to-find entry point for Cloud Rebuild.
Unicode 17.0 text shaping
Windows text-shaping support has been updated to help the operating system correctly display and shape newly encoded characters and scripts. Unicode 17.0 added 4,803 characters, including four newly encoded scripts: Beria Erfe, Sidetic, Tai Yo, and Tolong Siki. The figure is for characters added to Unicode 17.0, not a count of scripts.
Settings home page loading
Microsoft says performance improvements to the Settings home page should reduce loading times in certain scenarios. The release notes provide no measured speed result, identify no specific scenarios or hardware, and do not establish that every user will see faster loading.

A new entry point for Cloud Rebuild is located at Settings > System > Recovery. Microsoft describes the change as making the feature easier to access from Settings; the notes do not announce a new underlying recovery capability.
