In an interview published October 3, 2026, she said she could consider running in Pennsylvania if an open seat emerged, but described that possibility as conditional—not as a plan or declaration.
What did Lindy Li say about running again?
Li discussed a hypothetical future race in Pennsylvania, saying: “President Rubio calls me in two years, four years, then there’s an open seat in Pennsylvania for whatever reason.” She added: “And I’m not saying I want it; I’m just saying if it falls into my lap, then sure, but who knows?”
Her remarks leave the door open, but they do not establish that she intends to run, identify a particular seat, or announce a campaign. Li also described her current approach to political support this way: “I’m no longer going to half-heartedly support anybody. I learned my lesson about Biden and Harris. So I’m just waiting,” according to the interview.
What is known about her previous congressional campaigns?
A Fox News Digital profile by Leo Briceno, published October 3, 2026, reports that Li ran twice as a Democrat and did not advance beyond the primary stage. The profile also says she raised nearly $515,000 in 2016 and $168,000 in 2018. It does not specify in the relevant passage which races or committees those fundraising totals concern, and those figures have not been independently verified here.

Li recalled her early ambition in the interview: “I knew that I was supposed to run for Congress. But I didn’t know I was supposed to do it at twenty-four years old.”
Why does Li describe herself as having broken with Democratic politics?
The Fox News profile links Li’s break with Democratic politics to her concerns about how party figures represented President Joe Biden’s ability to serve another term amid questions about his age and cognitive abilities. Those claims are presented through Li’s account; they should not be treated as independently established findings about what party figures knew.

The profile describes her memoir as addressing internal deliberations about Biden’s age. It gives inconsistent book titles—the article body says Unbroken, while an image caption says Unburdened—so the title and publication details are not clear from that source.
The same profile reports, based on Li’s account, that speaking publicly damaged nearly all of her Democratic relationships and contributed to the end of an eight-year romantic relationship.
