iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max support MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging, each listed by Apple at up to 25W. If yours will not charge, begin with the setup: power the charger first, position the phone correctly, clear anything between the devices, and check the case and temperature. The steps below address common setup problems; they cannot determine whether a particular phone has a hardware fault.
Check the charging connection first
If your iPhone is connected to USB power, Apple says it charges through the wired connection rather than wirelessly. Disconnect the cable and adapter before testing MagSafe or a Qi pad.
Fix the charger setup
For MagSafe
For the documented setup to deliver up to 25W to iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max, Apple specifies a MagSafe Charger model A3502, A3503, A2580, or A3250 connected to a power adapter rated at 30W or greater and 15V/2A or higher. Connect the charger to power before placing the phone on it. If you set the phone on the charger first, remove it, wait three seconds after connecting the charger to power, then put the phone back. Apple’s MagSafe instructions say the charger provides magnetic alignment for charging.
For a Qi charging pad
Put the pad on a level surface and center the phone on it, or follow the placement position specified by the charger’s manufacturer. Wait a few seconds and check whether the charging icon appears. Apple lists Qi2 charging up to 25W for these iPhone models, but that maximum does not guarantee the same rate with every pad or setup.

Remove alignment problems
Take cards and other objects out from between the phone and charger. If charging does not start or is unusually slow, try removing the case—especially if it is thick, metal, or has a battery. Then place the phone directly on the charger in the recommended position.
Let a hot iPhone cool
If the phone is hot, move both it and the charger to a cooler location and give the phone time to cool. Apple says software may limit charging when the battery becomes too warm; charging resumes after the temperature drops. Heat can also cause charging to pause above 80%.

Test with a suitable charger and adapter
If the steps above do not help, try a known-working charger and power adapter that meet the requirements for the charging method. For MagSafe at up to 25W, use one of the listed charger models and the adapter rating specified above. A Qi-certified pad is another possible test, but Apple cautions that third-party charger functionality and performance vary. Wattage alone does not establish compatibility or guarantee a fix.

If wireless charging still fails with a suitable, known-working setup, the available Apple guidance does not identify the cause for an individual phone. It also does not establish a model-wide defect or a failure rate. Contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for device-specific diagnosis rather than assuming a particular internal component has failed.
