If a Manastone will not socket in Aion 2, first check that the target item accepts that stone type and has an available slot, then read the exact error shown by your game client. Current evidence does not confirm a universal cause, official list of socketing requirements, or guaranteed fix, so avoid applying instructions written for the original Aion or Aion Classic.
Check that the stone matches the equipment
A current community guide distinguishes Manastones from Soulstones: it identifies weapons and armor as Manastone equipment, and accessories as Soulstone equipment. This is community guidance, not official confirmation of Aion 2 mechanics. Check the target item’s current tooltip or socketing interface in your own client before trying again. Look for an available slot and capture the error
Inspect the item and the socketing interface for an available slot, then note the exact message the game displays when the attempt fails. These are practical diagnostic checks; the reviewed sources do not establish Aion 2’s precise slot display, failure conditions, or error-by-error remedies.
If you ask other players for help, include your region, client version or patch, item name, stone name, and the exact failure message. Those details can help distinguish a client- or item-specific issue from a general mechanic, but they are not an official troubleshooting procedure.

Check before transferring gear
The community guide says socketed stones do not survive a gear transfer. If you plan to transfer an item, verify its current upgrade and transfer behavior before investing valuable stones; do not assume they will move with the gear. The guide’s transfer guidance is community-authored, not official confirmation.
Use current, version-specific guidance
The available player discussion does not provide authoritative socket-failure rules, and older Aion socketing pages describe legacy mechanics rather than confirmed Aion 2 behavior. For example, a Reddit gear-progression discussion is player-authored, while the Aion Wiki socketing page is a legacy Aion reference. Do not infer a success rate, pity system, level restriction, failure penalty, or guaranteed-success item for Aion 2 from those sources.

If the stone appears compatible and the item appears to have an open slot but socketing still fails, consult the current in-game help or official support for your region. Confirm you are using information for your game region and client version; no specific official support article or universal fix is established here.
