The Enforcement Directorate says its searches at premises linked to TDI Group are part of an ongoing money-laundering investigation into the Gurgaon-Manesar land case. The agency links the probe to transactions with Atul Bansal’s ABWIL group. The searches are investigative steps—not a court finding that TDI Group or any individual is guilty.
What is the Gurgaon-Manesar land case?
The case concerns land in Manesar, Naurangpur and Lakhnoula, Haryana. According to the ED’s account reported by Hindustan Times, more than 400 acres had been notified for acquisition in 2007. The agency alleges that builders and intermediaries bought land from farmers at low prices while acquisition by the Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) was anticipated. The acquisition process later lapsed and the award was dropped; the ED alleges that the land was then sold at substantially higher prices.
The ED’s current probe is linked to the 2015 Gurgaon-Manesar land scam, according to the agency’s official statement. The investigation reportedly arose from a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR. These descriptions concern allegations and an ongoing investigation; they do not establish that the alleged conduct has been proved in court.
Why is TDI Group connected to the probe?
Hindustan Times reports that the ED identified TDI Group, led by Ravinder Taneja, as an intermediary in the alleged transactions. The agency reportedly alleges that TDI-linked entities Indo Asian Construction Co, NCR Properties and Divya Jyoti Enterprises bought nearly 33 acres from farmers between 2005 and 2007, then sold the land to the Atul Bansal group at a profit. The ED says the broader probe involves transactions with Bansal’s ABWIL group.

What happened in the searches?
Hindustan Times reported that the ED’s Chandigarh Zone-I office searched business and residential premises linked to TDI Group in New Delhi and Mohali on September 26, 2026. The report says the search at TDI House in Sector 119 lasted about 53 hours.
According to the report’s account of the agency’s actions, officials seized project records, files and digital devices, including computers, hard disks and servers. Luxury vehicles were also identified by the agency as alleged proceeds of crime. The report said officials were continuing to examine the material, the alleged assets and the company’s financial affairs; records related to other projects had also surfaced and were under examination.

What is established—and what is not?
- Established in the cited reporting: The ED says searches linked to TDI Group form part of an ongoing PMLA investigation connected to the Gurgaon-Manesar land case and transactions with ABWIL.
- Alleged by the ED: Intermediaries bought land amid the prospect of acquisition and later sold it at higher prices; TDI-linked entities were reportedly involved in transactions concerning nearly 33 acres.
- Not established by these reports: A final court determination of guilt. A search, seizure or agency allegation is not itself proof of an offence.
