Those general mechanisms do not reveal why a particular person saw the reported “pet incinerator” ad. What the “pet incinerator” ad appears to show
An October 1, 2026 Reddit thread titled “This ad on Instagram” shows an image that commenters interpreted as equipment for cremating deceased pets. Some described it as commercial or veterinary equipment. The discussion does not verify the advertiser, exact machine or model, listing, price, or the campaign’s intended audience. It is evidence of what participants reported seeing, not an authenticated product listing. Read the Reddit discussion.
Pet cremation machinery does exist in commercial settings. Manufacturer HiCLOVER describes its TS50PET as an industrial-grade pet cremation system for the pet aftercare industry. Separately, a Maldon District Council permit decision documents commercial equipment at one pet cremation operation in Essex, including individual chambers and a pet pod. Neither source establishes that the Reddit image showed that manufacturer or model, and the permit is a location-specific record rather than a general product or legal standard. Why Instagram might show an ad like this
Meta describes ad delivery as a combination of advertiser choices and platform ranking. Advertisers select audience options and campaign objectives; eligible ads enter an auction, where Meta says its selection uses a total value score that combines advertiser value and ad quality. Meta also says activity on and off its technologies may inform machine-learning models used to shape and deliver ads. Meta’s explanation of its ad auction; Meta’s ad-transparency explanation.

That describes a possible input to ad personalization, not proof that an outside purchase, a search, pet ownership, or any particular personal interest caused this impression. The available public information does not disclose this campaign’s targeting settings or establish why any one viewer received the ad. A surprising or seemingly irrelevant placement is not evidence that you searched for cremation equipment, wanted it, or were specifically targeted because of grief or a pet-related event.
