If the country rows in Google Search Console do not add up to the total in your Performance chart—or to a Pages report—the difference can be expected. First check whether you are comparing the same search type, dates, metric, and filters. Then check how each view groups results and whether the table or export includes every row.

Why country totals can differ from other views

In the Search results Performance report, the chart is aggregated by property. The Countries table is also property-aggregated, but the grouping changes when you select another table dimension: Queries, Countries, Devices, and Dates are property-aggregated; Pages and Search appearance are page-aggregated. Google documents this distinction in its Performance report overview.

Property aggregation counts results for the same query that point to the same Search Console property once. Page aggregation counts each unique URL separately. If multiple URLs from your property appear for a query, a Pages view can therefore report different clicks, impressions, click-through rate (CTR), or position than a property-grouped view. Google explains the distinction in its data aggregation and discrepancy guide.

That means a country-table sum is not automatically a reconciliation of a chart total or a page-grouped export. A Countries table and the chart share property aggregation, but the table may still be incomplete or affected by filters. A Pages comparison also changes the aggregation level.

Check the report settings and grouping

  1. Match the report scope. Compare the same Search results report, search type (Web, Image, Video, or News), date range, and metric. These settings can change which data you are comparing.
  2. Identify the table dimension. Countries is property-aggregated; Pages and Search appearance are page-aggregated. Do not treat those groupings as interchangeable.
  3. Review active filters. Check for page, query, or Search appearance filters. Google notes that page and Search appearance filters can change chart/table aggregation; chart clicks or impressions may sometimes rise or, rarely, drop. With page or query filters, match and non-match totals may not sum to the unfiltered total.
  4. Check row coverage. A visible table is not necessarily a complete list. Google says tables can show at most 1,000 rows, so rare or long-tail rows may be absent even when included in chart totals.

Why a visible table sum can be short

The 1,000-row cap applies to table display, and Google says exports are limited to the data shown in the report and can also be truncated to 1,000 representative rows. Summing only visible country rows may therefore produce less than a broader total. Exporting does not by itself remove this display limitation.

There is a separate privacy rule for query rows: rare queries are omitted from the Queries table, but those queries are included in chart totals unless a query filter is applied. This is a rule about query rows, not a special suppression rule for country rows. Do not attribute a country-total gap to anonymized country data without other evidence.

Allow for date boundaries and fresh data

Daily Performance data is labeled in Pacific Time, except in the 24-hour view. Google says collected data is usually available after 2–3 days, and the newest report data can be preliminary and change over the next few hours. For a recent comparison, use complete equivalent days where possible and avoid treating the newest daily figures as final. See Google’s Performance report data and timing guidance.

What exports can—and cannot—tell you

Exporting from a report preserves its current filters and special grouping. Google offers Sheets, Excel, and CSV exports, but the download reflects what the report displays and may be limited to 1,000 representative rows. A file is useful for inspecting the current view; it is not proof that every underlying row is present. Google describes exports in its Search Console export guidance.

For larger data workflows, Google also points to the Search Console API and BigQuery export resources. These may suit broader analysis, but their availability does not establish that every reporting limitation disappears. Compare like with like: aggregation level, grouping dimension, dates and time boundary, search type, metric, filters, and row coverage.

When the gap remains unexplained

If the settings and grouping match, the table is not truncated, and the dates are complete, the documented behaviors may not identify the specific cause for your property. The report’s active filters and data are needed to diagnose an individual discrepancy; Google’s general guidance explains possible differences, not which one caused a particular gap.
