First identify whether your unit is collecting water in its bucket, draining by gravity, or using a pump; the checks and parts differ by model.
Before troubleshooting: identify the drainage mode
Unplug the dehumidifier before handling its bucket or hoses. Find the model number on the silver nameplate at the back of the unit, then use that model’s manual for the exact connection and removal instructions. Midea’s FAQ explains where to find the number and why hose instructions depend on the model: Midea dehumidifier FAQ.
- Bucket collection: Water should collect in the removable bucket, with the rear drain plug in place if the manual specifies it.
- Gravity drainage: Water leaves through a hose that slopes downward from the drain point.
- Pump drainage: A pump moves water through a hose, sometimes upward or to another location. Only models equipped with a pump use these checks.
If water is leaking in bucket mode
Reseat the bucket
Remove and reinstall the bucket as described in the model manual. A bucket that is not properly positioned can interfere with operation, and bucket fit is also part of pump troubleshooting on some models.
Check the rear drain plug
If the unit is meant to collect water in its bucket, make sure the rear drain plug is installed. Midea’s EasyDry manual lists a removed rear drain plug as a cause of “Water on floor”: EasyDry dehumidifier manual.

If water is leaking with a gravity-drain hose
Inspect the connection and hose
Check that the hose is fully seated on the correct drain connection and that the connection is snug. Look for visible damage, kinks, or blockage, and check the hose’s outlet and where it empties. Midea’s EasyDry manual names a loose hose or hose connection as a cause of water on the floor.
Keep the hose route downhill
Gravity drainage needs a downward route. Midea says the hose must not be higher than the unit’s drain point; a raised section can prevent water from flowing out as intended. Follow the model manual’s specific hose-routing instructions rather than assuming another Midea model uses the same fitting or setup: Midea dehumidifier FAQ.

If water is leaking with a pump hose
Confirm the unit has a pump
Do not connect a hose to a pump port or follow pump troubleshooting unless the model is equipped with a pump. Check the manual to identify the correct port and hose.

Check the hose, filter, and bucket fit
For a pump-equipped unit, make sure the pump hose is fully seated, connected at the correct points, and free of visible kinks or debris. Check for a loose connection or leak along the hose. Where the manual specifies a pump filter, clean it as directed. Midea’s troubleshooting guidance also calls for checking bucket fit when a pump indicator reports a problem. Instructions vary by model; see the relevant Midea Cube manual or MAD50PE1QWT-S guide.
Keep outdoor pump drainage above freezing
Midea warns in its Cube manual not to operate an outdoor pump-hose drainage setup at or below 32°F (0°C), because water can freeze and block the hose. This is a model-specific operating warning, not a general leakage statistic or a procedure for non-pump models.

If the leak continues or an error code appears
Use the troubleshooting section for your exact model to interpret any code. Midea manuals do not use one universal code table: the EasyDry manual lists ES, AS, P2, EC, Eb, and E3 among its error or protection codes, while Midea’s FAQ discusses certain codes and advises contacting customer service if specified sensor or malfunction codes persist after restarting.
If the external checks above do not resolve a continuing leak, or a code persists, stop rather than opening the cabinet or attempting electrical or refrigerant-system repairs. Consult the model manual or contact Midea support for model-specific guidance.
