You don’t have to finish all five: PlayStation says each game is designed as a standalone adventure, even though the series has continuity. And as of October 3, 2026, Naughty Dog has not announced another Uncharted game or a release date; its official site identifies Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as its next game.
Recommended Uncharted play order
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune introduces Nathan Drake and the series’ treasure-hunting premise.
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves continues Nathan’s adventures and introduces Chloe Frazer.
- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception follows Nathan and Victor “Sully” Sullivan on another adventure.
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes place three years after Uncharted 3. Nathan has retired from fortune-hunting when his brother Sam returns and draws him into a new adventure.
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy shifts the lead role to Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross for a standalone adventure.
This order preserves the character history and relationships that carry forward, particularly into A Thief’s End. PlayStation’s series overview outlines the games and their stories.
Can you skip to Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy?
Yes. PlayStation’s Legacy of Thieves Collection FAQ says the series has continuity but each game is meant to be a standalone adventure. You can start with Uncharted 4 if Nathan’s story is your priority, or The Lost Legacy if you’d rather follow Chloe and Nadine.
If you choose Uncharted 4, the first three games provide more context for Nathan, Sam, and Nathan’s relationships. They add background, but are not a prerequisite for following the fourth game.

Which collection includes each game?
| Collection | Games included | Platforms listed by PlayStation |
|---|---|---|
| UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection | Single-player campaigns for Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake’s Deception | PS4, according to the PlayStation Store listing |
| UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection | A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy | PS5 and PC, according to the collection page |
The collections split the five games rather than bundling the entire series together. PlayStation also lists a physical PS5 disc edition of Legacy of Thieves. Store listings, editions, and availability can vary by region and change, so check the specific platform and edition before buying. The remastered Legacy of Thieves collection does not include the multiplayer from the original releases; PlayStation directs players to the PS4 versions for that feature.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is another Uncharted game confirmed?
No next Uncharted game or release date is announced in the official sources cited here. Naughty Dog’s company page identifies Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, in development for PS5, as its next game. The studio’s announcement, dated December 12, 2024, likewise calls it the studio’s next game. That does not establish that the Uncharted franchise has ended; it means a future entry should be treated as unannounced, not confirmed.
