What is the difference between the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+?
The practical trade-off is screen area versus portability. Samsung lists a 14.6-inch display and 692 g Wi-Fi weight for the Ultra, compared with a 12.6-inch display and 553 g for the S12+. The Wi-Fi models differ by 139 g. Both have 120 Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays and the same listed processor, so Samsung’s specifications do not establish a processing advantage for either model.

Choose the S12 Ultra for a larger workspace
The Ultra’s extra two inches of diagonal screen area make it the more natural choice if you want more room for documents, drawing, video, or multiple apps side by side. This is a practical inference from the display sizes, not a claim that the Ultra is faster. It is also the only announced model with a listed 16 GB memory and 1 TB built-in storage configuration.

Choose the S12+ for easier carrying
The S12+ retains a large 12.6-inch screen while weighing 553 g in the listed Wi-Fi version. That makes it the more portable pick for frequent handheld use, travel, reading, and handwritten notes—provided its screen is large enough for your work. Both tablets include an S Pen.
Match the model to your priorities
- Notes, reading, and everyday use: favor the S12+ if portability matters more than the largest possible canvas.
- Drawing and creative work: favor the Ultra if its larger screen is worth carrying the heavier tablet.
- Split-screen work and documents: the Ultra gives more display area for keeping panes visible together.
- More built-in storage: only the Ultra lists a 1 TB option; the S12+ tops out at 512 GB in Samsung’s announced configurations.
- Wireless networking: the Ultra lists Wi-Fi 7 and the S12+ Wi-Fi 6E. Check your router and local tablet configuration before making this a deciding factor.
How much storage should you choose?
Samsung lists the S12+ with 256 GB or 512 GB storage, each paired with 12 GB memory. The Ultra adds a 1 TB option with 16 GB memory. Both models support microSD expansion up to 2 TB, so a card can extend space for files without requiring the Ultra’s top built-in configuration. Samsung confirms device support, but compatibility and availability of particular third-party cards should be checked against the card and local device listing.

What should you know about battery life, the S Pen, and accessories?
Battery claims are manufacturer estimates
Both models specify 45 W charging. Samsung’s US product page quotes up to 23 hours of video playback for the Ultra and up to 21 hours for the S12+. These are manufacturer estimates, not independently measured battery-life results; actual runtime depends on use and conditions. Capacity figures alone do not establish which model lasts longer in a particular workload.
The included S Pen does not support BLE
Samsung says the in-box S Pen does not support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Do not buy either tablet expecting the included pen to provide BLE-based remote-control functions.

Check accessory fit before ordering
Samsung names the Pro Keyboard, Book Cover Keyboard Slim, Book Cover, and anti-reflecting screen protector among the series accessories, and lists a Frame Cover for the Ultra. The US product page also presents the keyboards and Book Cover. Confirm that an accessory is made for the exact S12 model you are buying; a search such as “Galaxy Tab S12+ Book Cover Keyboard Slim” can help narrow results, but does not confirm stock or compatibility by itself.
Samsung’s US launch material describes Care+ protection for the series, including accidental-damage coverage. Terms, enrollment windows, price, and covered events vary by market; review the local Samsung terms before relying on a particular benefit.
