How to simplify the home screen’s appearance
- Open Wallpaper & style: Touch and hold an empty area of the Home screen, then tap Wallpaper & style.
- Choose a quieter wallpaper and color scheme: Select a wallpaper and adjust the available colors to suit it.
- Reduce icon density: Change the Home screen grid so fewer icons fit across or down the screen.
- Adjust icon styling: If the options are available on your Pixel, choose an icon style or shape that looks less busy.

How to stop app suggestions from filling the screen
Pixel can suggest apps in two places: on the Home screen and in the all-apps list. To manage them, touch and hold an empty area of the Home screen, tap Home settings, then Suggestions. Turn off the Home screen suggestions option to remove suggested apps from the Home screen; use the separate all-apps-list option if you want to change suggestions there too.
For a more deliberate dock or row of favorites, pin the apps you actually use and remove unwanted favorites. Google documents suggestions and favorite-app controls in its Pixel Home screen settings guide.

How to make At a Glance less prominent
Touch and hold the date at the top of the Home screen, then open At a Glance settings. From there, turn off the feature or disable individual categories you do not want shown. If you switch At a Glance off, the date remains visible. Google notes that At a Glance availability varies by language and country; see its At a Glance help page for details.
What launcher settings cannot remove
Settings can reduce suggestions and alter the arrangement and appearance of supported elements, but they do not make every part of the Pixel Home screen freely movable. Google states that on Pixel phones, you cannot move the search bar. If the search bar is the element disrupting your layout, the built-in controls do not provide a way to reposition it.
