For several classic Halo campaigns in one purchase, start with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Choose Halo: Campaign Evolved if you want a rebuilt version of the original campaign, or Halo Infinite if you want an open-world campaign and free-to-play multiplayer. Your best option also depends on your platform and which Game Pass tier currently includes the game.

The Xbox Store listing names Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST in its included-add-on information, but storefront bundles and add-ons can vary. Halo: Campaign Evolved
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful but modernized remake of Halo: Combat Evolved‘s campaign, rebuilt from the ground up, according to Xbox. The current product page describes ten remade original missions and three new missions in the Operation: METEORITE arc. It lists Xbox Series X|S and Windows 10/11 PC; the Xbox Store listing also mentions cloud play. Xbox gives the release date as July 28, 2026. Check Xbox’s Campaign Evolved page.
The campaign supports solo play, two-player split-screen on console, and online co-op for up to four players, with crossplay and shared progression for online co-op, according to Xbox. Verify co-op entitlements and availability in your regional store listing.

Halo 5: Guardians
Halo 5: Guardians is another chapter in the Master Chief saga. Xbox lists it for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Standard or Premium: Which Campaign Evolved edition?
Xbox lists Standard and Premium editions of Campaign Evolved. The Premium Edition includes the game plus digital bonus content; it does not add a different campaign. Its extras are:
- Alpha Halo Armory Pack with five armor skins and six weapon skins.
- A digital artbook.
- The digital short story Halo: Hungry Buzzards.
- A digital game manual.
Choose Standard if you want the campaign without those digital extras. Choose Premium if the listed cosmetics and reading material matter to you. The Xbox Store has a Standard Edition listing and edition comparison; check it for the latest regional details.

Game Pass inclusion is title- and tier-specific. In particular, Xbox’s current Campaign Evolved page names Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass; do not assume a different tier includes it. How to choose before you buy
- Choose by campaign. Pick MCC for a collection of classic games, Campaign Evolved for the original campaign remade with new missions, or Infinite for an open-world campaign.
- Match the platform. Compare the supported platforms in the table with the device you intend to use. Cloud play availability is separate from console or PC support.
- Check the exact edition. For Campaign Evolved, decide whether Premium’s digital cosmetics and extras are worth the added edition tier. For MCC, confirm the current bundle and add-ons shown in your local store.
- Verify Game Pass for your plan. Search the specific game’s local Xbox listing and confirm both catalog availability and whether your tier covers it.
- Check online requirements. Infinite’s multiplayer is free-to-play, but Xbox says online console multiplayer requires a Game Pass subscription. For other co-op or cloud features, rely on the current listing’s terms.
Prices and availability depend on storefront region and date. Xbox’s MCC Store search result showed $39.99+ in one US listing, but that is not a reliable evergreen price; consult the current local listing for the amount and offer available to you.
