For the current Pixel 10 generation, the Pixel 10a lacks several of the Pixel 10 Pro’s premium hardware and camera options: a dedicated telephoto camera, Pro camera controls and high-resolution capture, a higher-resolution LTPO display, more RAM and expanded storage choices. The Pixel 10 sits between them, adding a telephoto camera and Tensor G5 while leaving out some Pro features. Many everyday camera and AI features are listed across all three models. This comparison answers “Which Google Pixel Features Are Missing from A-Series Phones?” for the Pixel 10a; differences vary by generation.

What the Pixel 10a is missing compared with Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro

Google’s specifications show that the biggest gaps are hardware and advanced capture options, rather than a wholesale loss of everyday software features. The Pixel 10a has no dedicated telephoto camera, less memory, a lower-resolution display than the Pro, and Tensor G4 instead of the Tensor G5 used in Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. Google’s comparison also does not list Pro camera controls or High-Res capture for either the 10a or the standard Pixel 10. Google’s Pixel comparison provides specifications, not independent image-quality, performance, battery-life, or durability test results.

Feature Pixel 10a Pixel 10 Pixel 10 Pro
Rear cameras 48 MP wide and 13 MP ultrawide; no dedicated telephoto listed Includes a 10.8 MP 5x telephoto Includes a 48 MP 5x telephoto

Google-stated wired charging rate Up to 50% in about 30 minutes with a 45 W USB-C PPS charger or higher Up to 55% in about 30 minutes with a 30 W USB-C PPS charger or higher Up to 55% in about 30 minutes with a 30 W USB-C PPS charger or higher

Specifications in the table are from Google’s comparison. Google says the required USB-C PPS chargers for wired charging are sold separately. Charging figures are manufacturer-stated conditions, not independent test results. “Not stated here” means the cited comparison information does not establish a value in this article; it does not mean the phone lacks the feature.

How the camera differences affect photos

The 10a has no dedicated telephoto lens

The Pixel 10a’s listed rear cameras are a 48 MP wide camera and a 13 MP ultrawide. Pixel 10 adds a 10.8 MP 5x telephoto, while Pixel 10 Pro has a 48 MP 5x telephoto. A dedicated telephoto lens is a separate camera designed for distant subjects. It gives the phone an optical focal length suited to that reach; digital or computational zoom instead crops or combines image data from available cameras. The 10a’s listed maximum zoom is up to 8x, compared with up to 20x on Pixel 10 and 100x on Pixel 10 Pro. Those maximums are Google’s specifications, not a guarantee of equivalent detail at every zoom level or a measure of independent image quality.

Pro controls and high-resolution capture are Pro-only in this comparison

Google lists Pro camera controls and High-Res capture up to 50 MP for Pixel 10 Pro, but not for Pixel 10a or Pixel 10. That distinction matters to people who want more manual control or the option to capture at the listed high resolution. It does not, by itself, establish that the 10a’s everyday photos are poor.

What changes on the display, in memory, and in the processor

The Pro display has more resolution and a wider refresh range

Pixel 10a and Pixel 10 Pro are both listed with 6.3-inch displays, but their panels differ. The 10a has a 1080 × 2424 pOLED display with a 60–120 Hz refresh range; the Pro has a 1280 × 2856 LTPO OLED display with a 1–120 Hz range. Google lists peak brightness up to 3000 nits for the 10a and up to 3300 nits for the Pro. These are specification figures; they do not establish how the displays compare under every viewing condition.

Memory and chip generation separate the models

Google lists 8 GB of RAM and Tensor G4 for Pixel 10a, 12 GB and Tensor G5 for Pixel 10, and 16 GB and Tensor G5 for Pixel 10 Pro. The 10a comes in 128 GB and 256 GB storage configurations; Pixel 10 Pro options extend to 1 TB. These figures describe capacity and processor generation, not measured speed or a prediction of how long each phone will remain suitable for a particular workload.

Charging is different, but the figures have conditions

Pixel 10a supports Qi-certified wireless charging. Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro list Qi2 Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 15 W. For wired charging, Google says the 10a can reach up to 50% in about 30 minutes with a 45 W USB-C PPS charger or higher; Pixel 10 and Pro can reach up to 55% in about 30 minutes with a 30 W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Google specifies that these chargers are sold separately. The rates are manufacturer claims under the stated charger conditions, not independent comparisons of charging time.

Which Pixel features are shared with the A-series?

Google’s comparison lists these features across Pixel 10a, Pixel 10, and Pixel 10 Pro:

  • Gemini and Gemini Live
  • Circle to Search and Live Translate
  • Call Assist and Camera Coach
  • Add Me, Macro Focus, and Night Sight
  • Astrophotography

Presence in Google’s model comparison does not establish universal eligibility: availability can depend on software version, language, or market. The table also shows that the 10a’s missing Pro camera hardware does not mean it is missing every notable Pixel camera or AI feature.
