YouTube’s Live Streaming API provides a broadcast-title field; its documentation does not identify a separate service for Indian-language text. YouTube also supports language labeling and localized video titles. That metadata is distinct from the cloud service transmitting the video.
What “YouTube stream title” means
YouTube distinguishes the public-facing live broadcast from the incoming video stream that carries audio and video. The title viewers see belongs to the broadcast. The stream resource also has a title property, but YouTube’s lifecycle documentation says that property is not visible to users. Google’s Broadcasts and Streams implementation guide explains the distinction.
The Live Streaming API describes the broadcast title as a string and says it can be set by modifying the broadcast resource or the corresponding video resource. The broadcast insert documentation specifies a title length of 1 to 100 characters. These are metadata requirements, not requirements to use a particular encoder or cloud host.
How to use an Indian-language title
- Enter the title as broadcast metadata. Set the public title on the YouTube live broadcast or its corresponding video. Use YouTube Studio or the API workflow you already use to manage the broadcast.
- Keep within the documented length. The API’s stated range is 1–100 characters for the title. If YouTube rejects a title, check its length and the exact validation message.
- Set language metadata when appropriate. YouTube’s video metadata includes a default language for the title and description, and supports localized titles. These options describe the video metadata; they are not cloud-encoder language settings. See YouTube Data API video metadata.
- Verify the public broadcast listing. Confirm the title on the live event viewers will open. Do not rely on the incoming stream resource’s title as the viewer-facing title.
The official documentation reviewed establishes a title string field and length rule, but does not explicitly guarantee every Indian script across every YouTube interface or third-party encoder. It supports the metadata-level answer, not a claim that every script and workflow has been tested.

Does a cloud encoder change title-language support?
Not on the basis of the documentation cited here. The broadcast title is YouTube metadata. A cloud encoder’s role is to send the audio-video stream; the documented title field does not name a cloud streaming provider as a prerequisite for Indian-language text. Choose an encoder for the streaming workflow you need, and manage the viewer-facing title as broadcast metadata.
Titles are not captions
Language support for live captions is a separate question from whether a broadcast title can contain Indian-language text. Google Cloud’s Live Stream API documents AI-generated captions for HLS and DASH, with supported languages depending on location. For asia-south1, its documented codes include en-IN, en-GB, and en-US; the guide does not list Hindi for that region. It says AI-generated translation is supported only in us-west1 and europe-west1. Those caption details do not establish support or lack of support for Indian-language titles. See Google Cloud’s caption and translation guide.

YouTube’s help for the described 608/708 caption workflow says it currently supports one caption track, although the underlying standard allows up to four. That limitation concerns this caption workflow, not title text or every method of delivering captions. See YouTube’s live caption requirements.
If you actually need live captions
Check the complete delivery path rather than relying on a provider’s language list alone. Confirm the spoken source language, caption or translation target language, deployment region, protocol and method for getting captions to YouTube, and number of caption tracks supported end to end. The cited Google Cloud guide documents HLS/DASH and region-specific language choices; it does not establish comparative accuracy, latency, pricing, or support for every YouTube caption workflow.
