Where to watch Apple TV sci-fi series
Apple TV sci-fi originals stream through the Apple TV subscription in the Apple TV app, and on the web at tv.apple.com. The app is available on Apple devices, supported smart TVs and streaming devices, game consoles, Android mobile devices, Windows devices, and some cable boxes. Apple TV 4K is one option, not a requirement: if you already own a supported device, you may not need to buy anything. Check compatibility for your exact model and country.
Apple TV and the Apple TV app are not the same thing. The app can also show third-party streaming services and content offered separately for rental or purchase. Those are not automatically part of an Apple TV subscription. Apple’s service FAQ says: “Apple TV subscription does not include third-party subscription services, or content available for rental or purchase on the Apple TV app.” Apple also says the subscription has no ads.
Apple TV sci-fi series to consider
Apple’s US collection is a current selection, not a permanent or exhaustive catalog. Its labels and featured titles can change, and availability may vary by country.

Ways to lower or share the cost
- Apple One: Apple TV is included in Apple One. Whether the bundle is worthwhile depends on which other services you would use.
- Student plan: Apple says its Apple Music Student Plan includes access to Apple TV. Check current local eligibility and terms.
- Qualifying hardware purchase: Apple says eligible Apple TV 4K purchases may include three months of Apple TV. For an eligible recent purchase, the offer should appear in the Apple TV app when you sign in with the Apple Account associated with that purchase. Verify current conditions rather than assuming you qualify.
- Family sharing: Apple says a subscription can be shared with up to five family members.
How to decide whether a subscription is worth it
- Check that the shows you want are included. Apple Originals such as the series listed above are the core reason to subscribe. A title appearing in the Apple TV app does not necessarily mean it is included: third-party subscriptions and separate rentals or purchases are outside the Apple TV subscription.
- Use your local monthly price. Compare the recurring charge after any trial, not just the introductory period. Confirm the exact offer and any conditions in your storefront.
- Account for access you already have. If you qualify for Apple One, the Apple Music Student Plan, or a hardware offer, that may change the effective cost.
- Consider who will watch. Family sharing for up to five family members can make one subscription more useful to a household.
- Check your devices before buying hardware. The app and web player work across supported Apple and non-Apple devices. Confirm compatibility for the device you own; a dedicated Apple TV 4K is only one way to watch.
