Where to find optical illusion models
MakerWorld and Printables both have relevant free models. These examples are useful starting points, not a complete catalog or a ranking of either repository.

Search terms that can narrow the results
Try optical illusion for a broad search. To find a more specific effect, search for infinity cylinder, floating spinning top, missing tile illusion, or portal desk toy. These terms correspond to surfaced listing titles or descriptions; results and availability can change.
Compare the design before downloading
“Optical illusion” covers very different prints. Compare the mechanism and visual effect, whether the model prints as one piece or needs assembly, support requirements, material and color needs, available profiles, and license terms. A print-in-place cylinder, an assembled spinning top, and color-layered wall art are not interchangeable projects.

- One-piece or assembly: The Infinity Cylinder is described as print-in-place. The floating top calls for ring assembly and a small amount of glue. The portal toy has assembly information on its listing.
- Supports and print setup: The cylinder listing says no supports are needed. Do not assume that setting applies to the other designs; consult each model’s own instructions and profiles.
- Material and color: The Hueforge example specifies black, beige, and white PLA and layer changes. Those colors are specific to that design, not a general requirement for optical-illusion models.
- Printer compatibility: A listed profile or set of instructions is not proof that a model will work unchanged on every printer. Check the file and profile details against your machine and slicer.
Check the license as well as the download
A free model download does not automatically grant permission to redistribute, remix, or sell the file or prints. The surfaced MakerWorld Missing Tile listing shows a Standard Digital File License with commercial-use restrictions; the Printables Dual Portal listing labels its license Free Cultural Works. Those are listing-specific terms, not platform-wide rules. Read the current license on the individual page for the exact permissions and restrictions that apply.
