In YouTube Studio, try Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility to check whether live streaming is available for your channel. This menu path is reported by a YouTube Help Community Product Expert, and may look different in some accounts or locales. You can also select Create → Go Live to see whether Studio lets you continue with setup. If live streaming is unavailable, check YouTube’s account requirements before troubleshooting your equipment.

Open YouTube Studio.

Select Settings, then Channel, and look for Feature eligibility.

Review the listed access for your channel. The exact path is community-reported rather than confirmed in YouTube’s official Help instructions, so labels and availability may vary.
If you do not see Feature eligibility, open Studio’s Create → Go Live flow. YouTube’s official Get started with live streaming guidance directs creators to Studio for setup and explains the requirements to go live.

Check the requirements that can block a stream
- Channel verification: YouTube requires your channel to be verified.
- Recent restrictions: You must have had no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days.
- Age: YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance says the person streaming must be at least 16 years old.
- Mobile streaming: The YouTube mobile app has additional conditions: at least 50 subscribers, a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and live streaming turned on. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
YouTube states: “To live stream, you need to have no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days and you need to verify your channel.” See its live-streaming setup guidance for current instructions.
Why the Go Live option may be unavailable
A missing option does not necessarily mean a problem with your computer, camera, or streaming software. Check the account state and the method you intend to use:

Restrictions may relate to policy or copyright issues, age-related circumstances, made-for-kids feature limits, or daily stream-creation limits. Review YouTube’s live-streaming restrictions guidance for the applicable case. Do not use another channel to get around an active restriction; YouTube prohibits that.
