The announcement set business pricing at US$1 per user per month and described electronic signatures, workflow automation, document tracking, audit trails and integrations. That is historical launch information—not confirmation that CudaSign or those prices are available today.
When did SignNow become CudaSign?
Barracuda announced the rebrand on March 3, 2015. SignNow had joined Barracuda through an acquisition announced on May 22, 2013. The name change put the eSignature service under Barracuda’s own brand and within its Data Protection Plus initiative.
At the time of the acquisition, Barracuda said SignNow had more than 1 million users, represented over 100,000 small businesses and more than half of the Fortune 500, and had passed 3 million digitally certified and signed documents. Those are figures Barracuda reported in 2013, not independently verified current totals.
Why did Barracuda change the name?
Barracuda said it wanted to extend its brand into eSignature and position the service as part of its data-protection portfolio. The acquisition announcement had framed SignNow as a way to expand Barracuda’s cloud data-storage and security offering. In 2015, Barracuda reported that more than 2 million users were leveraging CudaSign; that was the company’s figure at the time.
