First, check the model: NVIDIA’s official Windows XP driver pages reviewed do not list the NVIDIA TITAN Xp. They list the older GeForce GTX TITAN and GTX TITAN Black instead. Do not install a GTX TITAN package on the assumption that the similar name means TITAN Xp support. NVIDIA also says Windows XP was deprecated beginning with driver release 370.xx. The official evidence therefore does not establish supported TITAN Xp drivers for Windows XP.

Confirm the card and Windows XP version

Check the label on the graphics card or the system’s hardware information to distinguish a TITAN Xp from the original GeForce GTX TITAN. They are different products; the GTX TITAN’s appearance in an XP driver listing is not evidence that the TITAN Xp is supported.

Then identify the Windows XP edition and whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. A driver must match the operating system architecture as well as name the graphics card in its supported-products list. NVIDIA’s GeForce Game Ready Driver 368.81, released July 14, 2016, lists Windows XP and includes the GeForce GTX TITAN and GTX TITAN Black; it does not name TITAN Xp. NVIDIA’s GeForce Game Ready Driver 364.51, released March 8, 2016, likewise lists those older models, not TITAN Xp.

Recover display after a failed driver install

If the screen went black immediately after installing a graphics driver, try starting Windows in Safe Mode or using a known-good basic display path. If you can reach Windows, remove the failed graphics driver and restart. NVIDIA’s general troubleshooting guidance describes clean driver removal in Safe Mode for users familiar with that procedure; it is not a TITAN Xp-on-XP-specific fix.

If Safe Mode is inaccessible or the display remains unusable, avoid repeatedly installing packages for a different TITAN model. Use the computer’s established recovery options or seek help from a technician who can work with the exact card and XP installation. The cited NVIDIA material does not identify a verified TITAN Xp driver version for XP or a guaranteed repair procedure for this pairing.

Check for causes beyond the graphics driver

A black screen or instability can have more than one cause. NVIDIA’s general graphics troubleshooting material includes checks that can help isolate a broader system problem:

  • 576 Tensor Cores for AI acceleration
  • Return CPU, memory, and GPU overclocks to default settings.
  • Check whether the crash, freeze, lockup, or BSOD occurs only in a particular game or application.
  • Obtain motherboard chipset drivers from the chipset maker.

These are general troubleshooting checks, not confirmed fixes for TITAN Xp on Windows XP. They can help determine whether the problem is tied to a workload or to system configuration, but they cannot create official driver support where NVIDIA’s listings do not show it.

What NVIDIA’s XP support statements mean

NVIDIA’s operating-system support article says Windows XP is deprecated beginning with GeForce driver release 370.xx. That statement describes the declining OS support; it does not establish a final or compatible TITAN Xp driver for XP. The XP driver listings above are legacy pages dated 2016, so they should not be read as a current-driver recommendation.

NVIDIA’s TITAN Xp user guide covers installation and system requirements, but it does not establish Windows XP driver support. The official material cited here also does not establish a reliable modified-INF workaround or prove that a particular computer’s crashes are caused by hardware failure.

If Windows XP is a requirement, research a listed legacy card

If the computer must keep XP and the TITAN Xp cannot be made usable, one option to investigate is a graphics card explicitly named in an NVIDIA XP driver package, such as the original GeForce GTX TITAN. That is a different card, not a substitute that is guaranteed to work in every PC.

Before buying any used replacement, verify the exact Windows XP edition and driver architecture, motherboard and case fit, power-supply requirements, the card’s condition, and the seller’s return terms. NVIDIA’s driver listing establishes only that the named card appears in that XP package; it does not confirm compatibility with a particular computer. Treat forum reports or modified-driver instructions as unverified rather than official TITAN Xp support.
