What to do when your Instamart order is late
- Open the affected order. In the Swiggy app, go to your orders and select the Instamart order. Check its current status and ETA. Swiggy’s documented tracking flow can show order status and ETA, though available tracking details may vary by app version and city. Swiggy’s tracking documentation identifies the order ID as the reference for tracking.
- Contact support from that order if the ETA has passed or tracking is stuck. Use the help or support route shown on the specific order, explain what has happened, and include the order ID. Save the payment record and relevant screenshots of the order status in case support asks for them.
- Ask for a current update. Request confirmation of whether the order is still active and, if so, its revised ETA. The order’s in-app status is more useful than a general estimate because it reflects that specific order.
Swiggy developer documentation describes an order ID as part of support and cancellation flows. It also gives a phone number for integrators to share with users requesting cancellation, but that document is not consumer help guidance. What to do if Instamart canceled the order
- Check the cancellation reason. Open the canceled order and review any explanation shown in the app.
- Check the payment and refund status. For a prepaid order, ask support whether a refund has been initiated and how it will be processed. Keep the order ID and payment record available.
- Ask support to clarify the outcome for this order. Do not assume that a refund is automatic or that it will arrive by a particular date; the available sources do not establish one fixed timeline for Instamart refunds.
Should you cancel an order that is only delayed?
Check the cancellation terms displayed for your specific order before canceling. Swiggy’s general Refund & Cancellation policy says a buyer is generally not entitled to cancel after placing an order and that a full cancellation fee may be charged. That warning concerns a cancellation requested by the buyer; it is different from an order canceled by the merchant or platform.
The same general policy lists a possible refund condition for a prepaid order if delivery could not occur within two hours, and for a merchant cancellation for reasons not attributable to the buyer. It says refund eligibility is reviewed and the amount may depend on the issue, so this is not a guaranteed refund for every delayed or canceled order.

Why Instamart refund terms may differ
Swiggy’s terms describe Instamart as distinct from its general food-delivery service, direct customers to Instamart terms for Instamart transactions, and state that complaints about Instamart products are resolved by Instamart. Swiggy’s terms and conditions therefore make it important to confirm the terms and support response shown for the specific Instamart order, rather than treating the general Swiggy policy’s two-hour language as a universal Instamart promise.

- The order ID, which Swiggy’s documented tracking and support flows use to identify an order.
- The current order status, displayed ETA, or cancellation reason.
- Your payment record if the order was prepaid.
