Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIf Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown is not appearing in-game, first check when you are looking: Pearl Abyss’s latest announced release time is October 29, 2026, at 22:00 UTC. Before then, the DLC is not scheduled to be playable. After that time, check the account that bought it, the platform’s add-on manager and download status, then restart the launcher and game.
Check the current release date first
Pearl Abyss moved the DLC’s release from October 15 to October 29, 2026, saying the team needed additional development time for a more polished and stable experience. The publisher’s September 30, 2026 notice lists the release at 22:00 UTC on October 29; regional times are October 29 at 15:00 PT and 18:00 ET in North America, and October 30 at 07:00 KST/JST in Asia. The earlier October 15 date in the September 3 preorder notice has been superseded. Check the official release-date update for any later schedule change.

If you are checking before the announced time, waiting for the launch is the appropriate step; reinstalling the base game or changing hardware will not make unreleased content available. Pearl Abyss lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Mac, and Epic Games as platform options for the DLC, but says it will not be available on the Mac App Store at launch. A future Mac App Store release would be announced separately if planned. See the publisher’s Charting the Unknown page for platform details.
After launch, check access in this order
1. Confirm the purchase and account
Make sure the DLC purchase completed and that you are playing on the account that owns it. Check the relevant store’s purchase history or library. The available publisher information does not establish specific account-sharing rules or identify an entitlement outage, so verify ownership with the platform where you bought the add-on.

2. Look in the platform’s add-on manager
Open the game’s add-on or downloadable-content section in your platform client and check whether Charting the Unknown is listed, enabled, and installed. Menu labels vary by platform. Epic’s general guidance recommends checking DLC management in the launcher and any secondary launcher; SEGA’s general troubleshooting guidance also describes toggling DLC off and on to prompt a reinstall. These are general platform steps, not a confirmed Crimson Desert-specific fix. See Epic Games’ missing game or DLC guidance and SEGA’s DLC access troubleshooting.
3. Let downloads finish, then restart
Confirm that the platform has finished downloading and installing the add-on and any required game update. Once complete, fully close and reopen the platform client or console interface, then launch the game again. Nintendo’s missing-content guidance advises allowing downloads to finish before checking access: Nintendo Support: Digital Content is Missing.

4. Check whether the game requires progress or a particular location
Some games make DLC available only after a tutorial, a story milestone, or arrival in a specific area. This is a general possibility, not a published requirement for Charting the Unknown. Check the DLC’s own instructions or in-game notices before treating story progress as the cause. SEGA outlines these kinds of access conditions in its general DLC troubleshooting advice.
5. Check region compatibility if you use a disc
On consoles, a mismatch between a physical game disc’s region and the account or store region can affect add-on compatibility. PlayStation and Nintendo document region-related compatibility checks, but the available information does not establish a specific region restriction for this DLC. Consult PlayStation’s add-on troubleshooting guide or Nintendo’s missing-content guidance for your console.

6. Contact support with useful evidence
If the DLC remains unavailable after these checks, contact the store or platform’s support team, or Pearl Abyss. Include the platform, the account or store used to buy the DLC, purchase confirmation, and a screenshot showing what is missing. The publisher’s release notice does not identify a known missing-DLC bug or a specific remedy.

Pearl Abyss describes Charting the Unknown as adding ocean exploration by ship, islands, underwater treasures and ruins, new threats, further story content, facility rental and management, and upgraded housing. The publisher’s September 3 preorder notice also lists Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane as preorder bonuses.
