Start with the exact message on screen, then use the matching Embark guidance. The fact that a problem began after an update does not, by itself, show that the update caused it.
First, identify what happened

These distinctions matter: an antivirus conflict can be one possible explanation for a game or integrity problem, but it does not prove that a detection was a false positive.
If ARC Raiders crashes, freezes, or will not launch
Embark’s PC crash and launch guide was last updated September 30, 2026. Its general steps address crashes in the main menu or during loading; use code-specific instructions only when your screen shows the matching code.
Try the general checks first
- Check that your PC meets the game’s minimum requirements.
- If Raider Voice (Beta) is enabled, turn it off; Embark says the beta feature may cause crashes for some players.
- Check for updated graphics, CPU, motherboard/BIOS, monitor, network, and peripheral drivers. Update Windows and DirectX; restart after Windows updates.
- If you use Steam, open Library → ARC Raiders → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- If crashes continue, try disabling overlays and third-party software to see whether one is interfering.
Use the action for the displayed error code
Embark’s guide lists these specific remedies. Do not apply them to an unrelated code, and follow the current instructions on the support page carefully.

For file deletion or antivirus exceptions, use the code-specific instructions rather than changing several system settings at once. Embark’s older loading-issues guide, last updated February 27, 2026, also suggests restarting, updating the operating system, temporarily reducing background processes, and checking whether antivirus or firewall rules block the game or Easy Anti-Cheat. It describes clean-boot and clean-reinstall options as later steps. If reinstalling, that guide warns not to delete the entire Embark Studios data folder if another Embark game is installed.
If you see a System Integrity Violation or process warning
Embark’s integrity guide, last updated October 29, 2025, says these errors indicate that a security requirement is not met or that a disallowed process has been detected. Check the code before changing settings: the code family can point to a different cause.

Check security settings and background processes
- Open Windows Security → Device Security and review Core Isolation and Memory Integrity. Check Secure Boot if available, and install Windows updates.
- Close tools that modify gameplay or hardware. If the warning persists, disable nonessential startup items or use a clean boot to help identify interference.
- If you suspect antivirus interference, add only ARC Raiders and Easy Anti-Cheat to the antivirus exceptions list, following Embark’s directions and your antivirus vendor’s controls. Do not turn off all security protection.
- If the listed steps do not resolve the issue, contact Embark Support.
Use the code family as a clue, not a verdict
- ARAV…14 codes: Embark associates these with launching through a virtual machine.
- ARAV…18 codes: associated with NVIDIA Profile Inspector.
- ARAV…21 codes: associated with an active auto-clicker.
- ARAV…26 codes: associated with scripting.
- ARAV…24/27 codes: associated with required security settings being disabled.
These are associations in Embark’s guide, not proof of what happened on an individual PC. Embark says it cannot provide individual detail about the cause on a specific account for security reasons; do not infer an account penalty from an integrity code alone.
If the message says “Fatal Error: Cheat Software Detected”
Embark says the warning is triggered by a program or process on its disallowed list while it is active, not simply because the program is installed. It can involve AutoHotkey scripts or similar tools, but the message is not limited to those examples.

- Read the file path named in the warning.
- Open Task Manager and stop the identified active process.
- Try launching again only after the process has stopped.
Embark explicitly says this warning is not itself a ban. It also warns that continuing to launch the game with the flagged process active may result in disciplinary action. Do not assume an accessibility device or ordinary utility is prohibited based only on its category; follow the exact warning and current Embark guidance.
If you received an actual account-ban notice
Embark’s Ban and Enforcement Policy, last updated February 26, 2026, says enforcement may follow cheating, attempts to bypass anti-cheat, exploiting, abusive behavior, boosting or farming, account sharing or selling, or trading items for value. External software can also trigger anti-cheat violations unintentionally if it interacts with the game. Bans may be temporary or permanent, and some serious violations may extend across Embark titles.

- Open ARC Raiders Support and log in with the Embark ID associated with the account.
- Click the chat bubble, then choose Ban Appeals → In-Game Ban.
- Include the enforcement message and relevant context. Keep the account owner in control of the appeal.
Embark’s May 7, 2026 fair-play statement and September 30, 2026 anti-cheat statement say a person is involved in the appeal process. Embark also notes that replies may use pre-written responses; this is the studio’s description of its process, not a guarantee about the outcome of an individual appeal.
Hardware bans are a separate enforcement type under Embark’s policy, and the policy says hardware-ban appeals are not available. Do not try to evade a restriction by changing identifiers or using another machine.

What Embark’s anti-cheat update tells you—and what it does not
In its September 30, 2026 announcement, Embark described kernel-level protection from Denuvo, detections from Anybrain, and in-house machine-learning models and data. The studio says it builds confidence before taking action and analyzes behavior over multiple instances before issuing a permanent ban. Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal wrote, “Anti-cheat systems can’t ban a player the moment something looks suspicious.”
This describes Embark’s stated approach; it does not determine whether a particular player’s warning is correct or whether a specific update caused a crash. The published support pages offer troubleshooting and code interpretations, not an individual diagnosis. Treat the timing as a clue, not proof of cause, unless Embark identifies an incident or confirms a connection.
What to record before contacting support
Keep a concise record so support can distinguish a crash from a warning or enforcement action:
- The exact error text and code, or a copy of the ban notification.
- Whether the game closes, freezes, fails to load, or stays open with a warning.
- When the problem began and whether it occurs at launch, in the menu, or during a session.
- Your game platform and recent game, Windows, or driver updates.
- Any named process or file path, plus the official troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
For an account-ban appeal, include the enforcement message and relevant context through Embark’s appeal route.
