If a drone-delivered order is missing, damaged, or appears to be at the wrong spot, start with the order record: confirm the address and delivery point, check any photo or notice, and then contact the retailer or drone provider shown on that order. The right next step depends on who fulfilled it and whether it is marked delivered, delayed, failed, or incomplete; there is no single support desk or refund rule for all drone deliveries.
First, check the delivery details
- Open the order in the retailer’s app or website. Confirm the delivery address, status, selected drop-off point, map pin, and any delivery instructions.
- Review the delivery photo, confirmation, and text or push notifications. A “delivered” status by itself may not show exactly where the package was left.
- Look at the specified spot and nearby safe areas. Ask household members or neighbors whether they accepted or moved the package.
- If it is still missing, use the support or returns option attached to that order. Have the order ID ready and describe what happened clearly.
Drop-off arrangements vary. Prime Air says customers select a delivery spot and can update it or report an issue in the app (Amazon’s Prime Air overview). Walmart says its drone drop point is predetermined and may be a front yard, backyard, or driveway; its service is available only in select markets and depends on the address, weather, feasibility, and provider terms (Walmart’s drone delivery help page). Keep people and pets clear of the delivery area, and wait until the aircraft has left before approaching it.
If the package is missing or at the wrong spot
Use the provider-specific steps below rather than assuming that one company’s waiting period or remedy applies to another company’s delivery.
Amazon or Prime Air
Amazon’s general missing-package guidance recommends confirming the address, checking delivery notices and photos, looking at the requested drop-off area, asking household members or neighbors, and checking with the carrier. For an order marked delivered, Amazon says to wait 48 hours before escalating. It then directs customers to the third-party seller for seller-fulfilled orders or Amazon Customer Service for Amazon-shipped orders. Its page says to contact Amazon within 30 days of the expected delivery date for an Amazon-shipped order (Amazon’s missing-package help). These are general Amazon instructions; the page does not establish that every Prime Air issue follows each step or deadline identically. Prime Air also says customers can report an issue in the app.

Walmart drone delivery
For a Walmart order shown as delivered, check the delivery confirmation photo and whether the address rooftop pin is correct, then contact Walmart through chat and request a refund by starting a return (Walmart’s delivered-but-not-received help). Do not confuse this drone-specific guidance with Walmart’s separate shipping-order instruction to wait two business days after a delivered scan; that shipping guidance is not a drone-delivery wait period.
Wing
For a Wing order, contact Wing Customer Experience with the order ID and details. Wing’s help page says to provide “as many details as you can” for missing or incorrect items (Wing Help).

If contents are missing or incorrect
Report an incomplete or incorrect order through the retailer or operator that handled it. Include the order ID, what you received, and what is missing or incorrect.
- Wing: Contact Wing Customer Experience with the Order ID and as much detail as possible, following its help instructions.
- Walmart: Use the order’s help/chat and return options.
- Buy with Prime merchant order: Amazon’s Buy with Prime FAQ directs customers with incorrect, missing, or transit-damaged orders to merchant support. Buy with Prime merchant orders are a separate workflow from Prime Air drone deliveries (Buy with Prime FAQ).
If the item or package is damaged
Contact the order’s retailer or provider promptly through its support or returns workflow. Explain what arrived and where it is damaged, and keep the order information available. Follow any evidence or return instructions shown for that order; the reviewed help pages do not establish one universal damage procedure for drone deliveries.

Walmart says returns can be started in the Walmart app or at a store, while vendor-operated sites use the vendor app. Its help page describes different possible outcomes for drone deliveries: Wing-operated sites may provide a refund or promotional code for failed deliveries and post-delivery returns; Zipline can issue a refund, while a store manager has discretion for store returns. These are options Walmart lists, not guaranteed remedies for every damaged item. For Buy with Prime merchant orders, contact the merchant; that guidance does not define Prime Air’s damage process.
If delivery was delayed or never completed
Check the order’s latest status and notifications, then use the contact channel shown there. A delayed, failed, and delivered-but-missing order can have different next steps.

- Wing: Wing Help says unsuccessful orders can result from items being out of stock or weather, but also says it cannot provide specifics about why an individual order was unsuccessful (Wing Help).
- Walmart: A delayed drone order may generate a text or push notification offering cancellation or a switch to pickup. Walmart says applicable delivery fees are refunded when a customer switches to pickup; check the order’s offer and terms.
- Prime Air: Amazon says it may notify customers when a delivery cannot be completed, and weather can make drone service unavailable in the app while standard delivery remains available.
Do not infer a particular cause from a failed or delayed status alone. Follow the option in the order notification or ask the retailer or provider for help.

The FAA is not the place to seek a missing-package refund. Its contact page covers UAS questions and reports of unsafe or unauthorized aviation activity; ordinary order support belongs with the retailer or provider (FAA contact page).
