First check what you are pairing: Google’s Android XR Bluetooth instructions cover connecting Bluetooth accessories to an Android XR device, not a universal glasses-to-Android-phone setup. For XR-device pairing, enable Bluetooth, put the glasses in their own pairing mode, and follow the on-screen prompts. If the glasses were already paired, select them from Paired devices to reconnect.
Identify the device you’re pairing with
There are two different connection paths that can be confused: pairing glasses as a Bluetooth accessory to an Android XR device, or setting up glasses with an Android phone using the maker’s companion app or Fast Pair. Google’s Android XR guide documents the first path; it does not establish one setup flow for every glasses model or phone. Check the glasses maker’s instructions if you are setting them up with a phone.
Google’s XR steps apply when the other device is an Android XR device. The exact pairing-mode procedure remains specific to the glasses or accessory, so use its product guide rather than assuming a button sequence.
Pair glasses with an Android XR device
- Turn on Bluetooth: On the Android XR device, open Home, select Quick Settings, then Bluetooth, and turn Bluetooth on. See Google’s Android XR Bluetooth instructions.
- Put the glasses in pairing mode: Follow the accessory’s own guide. The XR device cannot make an accessory discoverable if it has not been placed in pairing mode.
- Follow the on-screen instructions: Select the glasses when they appear. If the XR device requests a passkey, enter the code shown on that screen; there is no universal XR passkey established for all glasses.
Reconnect glasses that were paired before
A saved device that is disconnected does not necessarily need to be paired again. On the XR device, open Home → Quick Settings → Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth on, and choose the glasses under Paired devices. Android XR shows a connected accessory as Connected. Google documents this reconnect path in its Android XR Bluetooth guide.

Try these checks if pairing fails or the connection drops
Google’s general Android Bluetooth advice offers basic checks that can help, though menus may differ by XR device:
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on, then check whether the glasses show as paired and connected.
- Restart both the Android device and the glasses.
- Confirm that the glasses are discoverable and ready to pair according to their maker’s instructions.
- Refresh the list of available accessories and try selecting the glasses again.

If you’re using Fast Pair with an Android phone
Use this path only if the glasses support Fast Pair and you are setting them up with an Android phone. Google recommends searching in Settings if no setup notification appears. For supported Fast Pair accessories, keep the phone within 0.5 m (1.6 ft), turn on Bluetooth and Location, and make sure the phone has Wi-Fi or mobile network access. This proximity guidance is for phone-based Fast Pair; it is not a verified requirement for Android XR glasses generally. See Google’s Fast Pair setup help.

If the glasses still will not pair or remain connected, check the maker’s instructions for supported devices, pairing mode, software or firmware updates, reset steps, and repairs. The Android XR help pages point users to manufacturer help and software updates, but do not provide a universal glasses reset procedure. Start with Android XR device setup help or the Android XR Help center to locate manufacturer support.
