Its five launch agents are intended to handle specific engineering tasks while leaving engineers responsible for review and trusted sign-off. Siemens announced the toolkit on February 27, 2026, and says it is available through an early-access program.
What the toolkit is—and what it is not
The Questa One Agentic Toolkit adds domain-specific agent workflows to Siemens’ Questa One smart verification portfolio. It is aimed at teams verifying integrated circuits, including complex IP and larger system designs; it is not a consumer AI app or a physical chip-verification device.
The toolkit is designed to connect AI-assisted tasks with Siemens verification software, including Questa One Verification IQ, Questa One SFV, and Questa One Sim. Siemens describes the agents as able to decompose goals, adapt strategies across runs, build persistent expertise, and operate with configurable human oversight. Those capabilities describe the product’s intended workflow; they do not establish that every verification decision or sign-off can be automated.
What each of the five agents does
The launch set divides work into focused roles rather than presenting one general-purpose agent for every verification task.

| Agent | Stated role | Where engineering judgment remains important |
|---|---|---|
| RTL Code Agent | Generates synthesizable RTL from natural-language descriptions, checks coding violations, and suggests standards-aligned fixes. | Engineers need to review generated RTL for design intent, correctness, and suitability before adopting it. |
| Lint Agent | Configures lint analysis, checks RTL for design errors and style violations, and proposes fixes or waivers. | Proposed changes and waivers require evaluation against the project’s design rules and intent. |
| CDC Agent | Configures and runs clock-domain-crossing verification, suggests tuning, and proposes fixes or waivers. | Engineers must judge whether a proposed tuning, fix, or waiver is appropriate for the design. |
| Verification Planning Agent | Analyzes specifications and generates verification plans, feature descriptions, scenarios, and checking strategies for engineer review. | The generated plan and checks need review to ensure they cover the specification and the project’s verification goals. |
| Debug Agent | Correlates waveforms, assertions, coverage, and logs to identify suspicious transitions, possible failure mechanisms, and targeted debug scenarios. | Its findings are investigative leads; engineers still determine the cause and appropriate response. |
How the agents fit into a verification workflow
The agents cover several different stages of the work: creating or checking RTL, deciding what to verify, executing verification analyses, and investigating results. The available information names those capabilities but does not prescribe a single required sequence or say that every project uses all five agents.
- Creation and code checks: The RTL Code Agent can draft synthesizable RTL from a natural-language description; the Lint Agent checks RTL for errors and style violations.
- Verification planning: The Verification Planning Agent turns specifications into proposed features, scenarios, and checking strategies for engineers to review.
- Clock-domain analysis: The CDC Agent configures and runs CDC verification, then suggests tuning or possible fixes and waivers.
- Debug: The Debug Agent brings together waveforms, assertions, coverage, and logs to help focus investigation.
Siemens positions human oversight and trusted design and verification closure as part of the approach. In practice, the key distinction is between automating portions of the workflow and delegating accountability: the toolkit can propose work and findings, but its description does not make AI output equivalent to an engineer’s approval or sign-off.

How it relates to Questa One, Fuse EDA AI, and other coding tools
Questa One is Siemens’ broader smart verification portfolio; the Agentic Toolkit adds AI-agent workflows that work with that environment. Siemens announced the portfolio on May 13, 2025, for work spanning complex IP, SoC, system, 3D-IC, chiplet, and software-defined architectures, and announced its availability in June 2025.
Fuse EDA AI is Siemens’ AI system, with which the toolkit is designed to work. Siemens calls the toolkit Fuse-preferred but framework-agnostic and says it can also work through tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, and Cline. It supports CLI and IDE environments such as VS Code. The stated purpose of standardized interfaces is to preserve existing tool investments.

Siemens also describes the Questa One Gateway as a single governed entry point to Questa engines, databases, and services. The Gateway is presented as framework- and LLM-agnostic, with an emphasis on observability, repeatability, and quality controls. Separately, Siemens identifies NVIDIA Llama Nemotron and NVIDIA NIM as part of the toolkit’s engine-native intelligence foundation. These descriptions indicate the toolkit’s integration and governance approach; they do not establish that all combinations of frameworks, models, engines, and deployment environments are available to every customer.

Siemens says the Questa One Agentic Toolkit is available through an early-access program. The official information summarized here does not state a price, licensing tier, or general-availability date. Those terms should be confirmed with Siemens rather than inferred from the availability of the broader Questa One portfolio.

Siemens has published a MediaTek customer statement from Akshay Aggarwal, senior director of Engineering, saying engineers became proficient within hours and completed tasks that typically require days. That is a vendor-published testimonial, not an independently audited benchmark, and it should not be treated as a guaranteed or generally applicable time saving. The available official material does not provide an independent quantitative benchmark for the toolkit.
