Maxine Peake’s pick for what to watch after Apple TV thriller Last Seen is a change of pace: Ann Droid, a comedy starring Diane Morgan. Peake told TechRadar, “I would go to the BBC and I would watch Ann Droid with Diane Morgan.” TechRadar reported it was free on BBC iPlayer when its article was published on 30 September 2026; availability may vary by date and location.
Peake’s unexpected follow-up is Ann Droid
Peake’s answer points away from another suspense series and toward comedy. She named both the destination and the programme in her TechRadar interview: “I would go to the BBC and I would watch Ann Droid with Diane Morgan.”
TechRadar describes Morgan as Linda, a secondhand AnnDroid Z58/100 Basic Eldercare Robot, given to Sue (Sue Johnston), a widow, by her son Michael (Kevin Ready). That family-and-robot setup makes the recommendation a tonal switch after a thriller rather than a continuation of the same crime-drama mood.
How the recommendation differs from Last Seen
Last Seen is an Australian six-episode thriller starring Patrick Brammall, with Peake among the cast, according to Apple TV Press. Apple announced a premiere on 9 September 2026, with two episodes at launch and weekly releases through 7 October. It is adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s novel The Dispatcher.

The contrast is the point: if the tension of Last Seen is what you want more of, Peake did not recommend another thriller here. Her suggestion is to decompress with Morgan’s comedy instead.
