It is not established as a finished commercial security product: the creators describe its planned features, but the available project materials do not independently verify that every function works or provide a complete, reproducible firmware release.
What is Superior Boy?
Team Superior Tech presents Superior Boy as a device for cybersecurity, education, and research. The Hackster.io page calls it “Cybersecurity, education, and research in one advanced device” and labels the project work in progress. That wording describes the creators’ aims; it is not an independent assessment of the device’s capabilities.
The concept brings several kinds of hardware interaction into one maker build. Its project description includes USB human-interface-device (HID) behavior, wireless scanning, NFC/RFID interaction, infrared communication, and other demonstrations. The available material does not establish that all of these functions are implemented, reliable, or effective in real-world conditions.
What components does Superior Boy use?
The project page lists components for a design built around Raspberry Pi RP2040 and Espressif ESP32S microcontrollers. It also names radio, display, sensing, storage, power, and interface parts. This is the project’s component list, not a verified complete bill of materials or a compatibility-checked shopping list.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The page also says schematic and PCB files are attached. It credits PCBWay for sponsor support; that credit does not establish current service terms or a referral relationship. For exact part variants, wiring, and design files, consult the Hackster.io project page.
Can you build the Superior Boy?
The attached design resources may give a maker a starting point, but the page does not establish a complete, reproducible build package. In particular, its source-code section indicates that code was forthcoming. The listed components alone are not enough to confirm that a finished device can be assembled and made to perform all described functions.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Review the project files. Check the schematic and PCB attachments on the Hackster page and determine whether they contain enough detail for your intended build.
- Verify every component variant. The names CC1101, NRF24, PN532, and ST7735S identify component families or models, but the project material does not establish exact purchase variants or compatibility for every board and module. Check pinouts, electrical requirements, and the design files before ordering.
- Confirm firmware availability. Do not assume that the listed hardware has released, tested firmware for every advertised function; the project page indicates that code was forthcoming.
- Keep experiments in an authorized lab. Use only equipment and networks you own or have explicit permission to test. The project’s descriptions of HID behavior, wireless activity, or other demonstrations are not evidence that they safely or reliably affect real systems.
What is verified—and what is not?
The primary source is a project page published by Team Superior Tech on October 24, 2023. It provides the creators’ description, a component list, and attached schematic and PCB resources. A secondary summary appeared on jpralves.net on October 26, 2023, but it does not turn the feature descriptions into independent test results.
- Established by the project page: Superior Boy is presented as a cybersecurity education and research project, marked work in progress, with named hardware components and schematic/PCB attachments.
- Described by the creators, not independently demonstrated in the reviewed material: its planned HID, wireless, NFC/RFID, infrared, and other functions.
- Not established: a complete reproducible firmware release, validated full bill of materials, measured performance, or verified security effectiveness.
Accordingly, treat Superior Boy as an educational hardware concept to investigate, not as a proven security-testing instrument or ready-to-buy product. The page does not benchmark the project against other learning devices or establish its performance, portability, or protocol coverage in practice.
