myQNAPcloud One is QNAP’s subscription cloud-storage plan for QNAP NAS owners and businesses. It combines file-based cloud storage for NAS backups with S3-compatible object storage under one shared capacity quota. The two services remain separate: sharing a subscription does not make files stored in one accessible through the other.
Who is myQNAPcloud One for?
QNAP’s clearest audience is people and organizations that already use QNAP NAS devices and need an off-site backup destination, object storage, or both. QNAP also positions the service for businesses that want to manage those workloads through a subscription, describing healthcare, finance, and education as examples of sectors with security or compliance needs. Those are QNAP’s target-market examples, not evidence that the service holds any particular independent certification. QNAP’s February 2026 launch announcement describes NAS backup integration and predictable storage costs as part of the offer.

The service is cloud storage, not a NAS appliance. A compatible QNAP NAS is relevant if you want to back up NAS data to the cloud, but QNAP’s announcement and product information also describe an object-storage service accessed through S3-compatible tools. Check current QNAP documentation for your device, application version, region, and workload before subscribing.
What does the subscription include?
| Service or feature | What it is for |
|---|---|
| myQNAPcloud Storage | File-based cloud storage designed for NAS backup. |
| myQNAPcloud Object | Scalable object storage that QNAP describes as S3-compatible. |
| Shared plan capacity | One subscribed capacity pool that can be allocated between the two services, rather than separate subscriptions for each. |
The quota is shared; the storage interfaces and data are not merged. QNAP says object data accessed through the S3 API cannot be accessed through myQNAPcloud Storage. In QNAP’s Hybrid Backup Sync and HybridMount apps, the services appear as separate cloud providers. Choose the service based on how your application stores and retrieves data, not just on the fact that both draw from the same subscription. QNAP’s product FAQ explains this distinction.

What features and limits should you check?
In its February 6, 2026 launch announcement, QNAP listed free data transmission and API requests, object-lock functionality, NAS backup integration, 180-day user activity monitoring, expiring file shares, and up to 100 file versions for advanced myQNAPcloud Storage. These features may depend on the service or plan tier: the regular myQNAPcloud Storage plans shown on the US pricing page do not necessarily include every advanced One feature. Confirm the current feature list for the exact plan you are considering.
“Free” transmission and API requests do not mean unlimited use. QNAP says a fair-use policy dynamically controls concurrent API requests and upload, download, and system-database resources according to account storage volume. QNAP’s launch announcement also reported 13 global data centers; check the current plan page for available regions rather than assuming every location is available for every account.

- ARM Cortex-A55 quad-core 2.0GHz processor with 4 GB DDR4 RAM
- Built-in NPU for AI Acceleration to boost performance for high-speed face and object recognition.
- 2.5GbE (2.5G/1G/100M) ports accelerates file sharing across teams and devices or streamline large file transfers
- Budget-friendly Home NAS for file storage and multimedia streaming
- Centrally store and organize personal or family photos, music, and videos
QNAP Product Manager Vivian Luo said in the launch announcement that myQNAPcloud One had been validated through early-access usage in 2025 for NAS backup and object-storage scenarios. This is QNAP’s account of its own early-access program, not an independent customer study or performance benchmark. The available product material does not establish an independent real-world speed result.
How much does myQNAPcloud One cost?
QNAP’s US pricing page listed the 1 TB myQNAPcloud One plan at US$8.39 per month when accessed on October 3, 2026. That is a dated US listing, not a guaranteed price for other countries or a future date. QNAP’s February 2026 launch announcement said annual plans could save up to 18%, which it described as an advertised maximum; savings depend on the applicable plan and billing terms. Check the current US plans and pricing page or the relevant regional page before purchase.

- Centrally store and organize personal or family photos, music, and videos
What happens if you cancel or the subscription expires?
QNAP says subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel to prevent renewal. Its product FAQ describes a grace period after expiry, followed by limited access for downloading and deleting files; if the account remains over its available capacity, data may eventually be deleted. Because the timing and applicable terms matter, review QNAP’s current product FAQ and service information before relying on the cloud copy as your only backup.

- Choose myQNAPcloud Storage if your priority is file-based backup from a QNAP NAS.
- Choose myQNAPcloud Object if your workload needs S3-compatible object storage and will access data through an S3 client or API.
- Use both if you have both workloads and want to draw on one subscription quota, while keeping in mind that the services have separate access paths.
- Check before committing that your device and software support the intended integration, the required region is available, the plan includes needed features, and the retention and expiry terms fit your backup policy.
