DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered includes both DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 and its expansion, DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Xtreme Legends. It also brings updated graphics and controls, new scenarios and gameplay features, returning officers, and offline two-player play. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds costumes, weapons, items, and an in-game concept-art collection.
What the Complete Edition includes
KOEI TECMO describes the remaster as a combination of the original DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 and DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Xtreme Legends. The publisher says both titles have been recreated with refined graphics and controls, new features, and new scenarios. Its launch announcement and game overview describe what carries over and what has been added.
The original DYNASTY WARRIORS 3
The original game supplies the Three Kingdoms action campaign, numerous battlefields, and a returning roster of more than 40 officers, according to the publisher’s 2026 launch materials. KOEI TECMO identifies the original as the first series entry with True Musou Attacks, simultaneous two-player play, and an officer development system.
The Xtreme Legends expansion
Xtreme Legends adds stories for seven officers, including Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao. Its other content includes bodyguard customization, new weapons, and four types of challenge modes. The publisher’s game overview details these expansion features.

Updated presentation and additional scenarios
The remaster recreates the cast and battlefields using Unreal Engine 5, as identified on the official game listing. It also adds scenarios featuring officers who can be unlocked by meeting specific conditions. Ziluan, the protagonist of DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS, joins the returning officers.
New gameplay systems and two-player modes
The remaster adds mechanics that can be turned on or off individually. Normal Settings apply the publisher’s recommended remaster configuration; Classic Settings aim for a play experience closer to the original. The October 1, 2026 launch announcement describes these options and systems.
- Evasion: Dodge or briefly withdraw from the battlefield. A precisely timed Evasion triggers a Just Evasion counterattack.
- Perfect Power Guard: Deflect an attack and create an opening for a counterattack.
- Weapon Fusion: Consume unwanted weapons to transfer their elemental attributes and skills to another weapon.
Offline split-screen co-op and versus play are available in Musou Mode, Free Mode, and VS Mode. KOEI TECMO also announced online two-player co-op as a post-launch update, but the cited announcement did not give its timing or confirm that it had shipped. Check current game or storefront notices before relying on online co-op availability.

Steam offers a separate Deluxe upgrade containing only the additional content, not the base game. Check your library before buying to avoid purchasing the base game twice. Some Deluxe items can also be obtained during play, and the collection’s producer comments are written in Japanese only. See the Steam listing for the current edition details.
A preorder notice dated September 24, 2026 advertised a Retro-Style Red Hare Saddle for orders placed before September 30, 2026. That offer deadline has passed; the notice said bonuses might later be offered as paid or free add-on content, but did not establish that this item is currently available.

Platforms and practical details
KOEI TECMO America lists the game for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam, and marks it available now. Availability, prices, and edition names can vary by region. Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing gives an October 1, 2026 release date.
- Nintendo Switch 2 (US listing): 28.7 GB file size; supported languages are Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and American English. Single-system play supports one or two players. Demo save data does not transfer to the full game, and some demo content may differ.
- Steam: Supports multiple controller types and customizable mouse-and-keyboard controls. Depending on PC hardware, the game supports 4K Ultra-HD, ultrawide displays, multiple upscaling features, and HDR; these features are not guaranteed on every configuration.

What is in the free demo?
The free demo includes the special “Battle of Hulao Gate (Allied Forces)” scenario and six playable officers: Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhenji, Zhou Yu, and Sun Shangxiang.
