It measures temperature where you place it in the room, rather than beside the radiator, and sends control information directly to the valve over Thread using Matter bindings. It is not a universal thermostat: it requires a compatible Eve Thermo valve and cannot control underfloor heating.
What Eve Thermo Control does
A radiator valve typically senses temperature near the radiator, where heat can make the reading differ from the rest of the room. Eve Thermo Control lets the system use the temperature at the sensor’s location instead. Place it where you want the room temperature measured, and it acts as the external sensor and controller for an Eve Thermo valve.
The device has a 320 × 320-pixel E-Ink display that shows the selected target temperature and heating status. It also reports humidity. Its operating ranges are 0 °C to 50 °C for temperature and 5% to 95% for humidity; Eve specifies typical accuracy of ±0.3 °C (±0.54 °F) for temperature and ±3% for humidity. Does Eve Thermo Control work with Matter?
Yes. The Connectivity Standards Alliance lists Eve Thermo Control as a Matter and Thread temperature-sensor/controller product, certificate ID CSA23D01MAT41810-24. Eve describes Matter bindings that allow the controller and compatible valve to communicate directly over Thread. That does not make the device compatible with any Matter thermostat or radiator valve: Eve says temperature transmission and regulation work only with Eve Thermo. What you need to use it
- A compatible Eve Thermo valve: Eve Thermo Control requires Eve Thermo (4th generation) upgraded to Matter or Eve Thermo (5th generation). It does not regulate other manufacturers’ thermostats or valves. [Eve FAQ]
- A supported Apple home setup: For Eve’s listed Apple setup, you need iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or newer and an Apple home hub with Thread. Eve lists Apple TV 4K (2nd generation), Apple TV 4K (3rd generation, 128 GB), HomePod (2nd generation), and HomePod mini as supported hubs. The valve is a separate part of the system unless you buy the Comfort Set. Eve Thermo is designed for radiator valves with an M30 × 1.5 connection and includes Danfoss RA, RAV, and RAVL adapters; check your radiator connection before purchase. Can it replace a thermostat or control underfloor heating?
No. Eve Thermo Control is an accessory for Eve Thermo radiator valves, not a standalone thermostat or a general-purpose heating controller. Eve states that it cannot regulate underfloor heating. Power, placement, and specifications
The unit has an integrated rechargeable battery and charges through USB-C. Eve recommends a power supply rated at 5 V and at least 500 mA. Its stated dimensions are 54 × 54 × 19 mm. The box contains Eve Thermo Control, a USB charging cable, a quick-start guide, and safety instructions. [Eve product specifications]
Place the sensor where its reading will represent the room temperature you care about, rather than right beside the radiator. The product specifications establish its operating range and typical accuracy, but do not provide a specific placement distance from radiators or a stated battery runtime; follow the installation guidance supplied with the device.

Eve Thermo Control vs. the Comfort Set
The Comfort Set is the bundle for someone who also needs the compatible radiator valve. The individual controller is relevant if you already have a supported Eve Thermo valve. Who should consider Eve Thermo Control?
- Consider it if you have a compatible Eve Thermo radiator valve and want heating decisions based on temperature elsewhere in the room, with a visible target temperature and heating status.
- Look elsewhere if you need a sensor for another brand’s thermostat, a standalone room thermostat, or a controller for underfloor heating.
- Check the complete setup first if you do not already have the compatible valve and a supported Thread-capable hub. The required valve and hub affect what the system costs and whether it will work in your home.
