Talismans in Minecraft Dungeons II are equipment that provide passive bonuses and give you another way to customize a build. Official sources confirm that effects and rarities are part of the game’s customization systems, but do not specify talisman rarity tiers, exact effects, or whether talismans themselves can be upgraded.
What talismans do
Talismans add passive bonuses while contributing to your character build; they are described as boosts, not as abilities you activate. Design director Laura de Llorens said, “We also added talismans, which are passive boosts,” in an Official Xbox Podcast interview published September 26, 2026. Minecraft.net likewise describes them as a new equipment category for passive bonuses and additional build customization in its gameplay systems overview.
The sources do not name individual talisman effects or give percentages, so there is not enough verified information to say that a particular talisman increases a specific stat by a particular amount.
How to check the effects on your build
Use the in-game Effects and Enchantments menu to review effects from your weapons, armor, and talismans together. An Xbox Wire gameplay preview published August 26, 2026 describes the menu as a way to see how gear affects your build. Check it after equipping or changing gear to understand the effects the game lists for your current setup.

Do talismans have rarity?
Rarity is mentioned as part of the game’s customization systems: de Llorens said, “There are effects. There are rarities.” That statement does not establish how many rarity tiers talismans have, whether every talisman has a rarity label, or what rarity changes about a talisman. No talisman rarity names or odds are specified in the cited official information.
Can you upgrade talismans?
Official information reviewed here does not confirm that talismans can be upgraded or identify upgradeable talisman stats. Minecraft.net says that enchantments can be upgraded and leveled over time, but that is a separate mechanic; it does not establish that talismans work the same way. Keep the two systems distinct unless the game itself documents a talisman upgrade option.
