On Saturday, October 3, 2026, church observances and Bible readings depend on the calendar and tradition. The U.S. Catholic calendar lists a weekday with an optional Blessed Virgin Mary observance; Orthodox calendars include different readings and commemorations; and the Anglican Church of Canada provides readings by service.
U.S. Catholic calendar: weekday and optional Marian observance
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ 2026 calendar lists October 3 as a weekday, with green or white liturgical colors and an optional Blessed Virgin Mary observance. The Mass readings are Job 42:1–3, 5–6, 12–17 and Luke 10:17–24 (Lectionary 460). See the USCCB’s 2026 liturgical calendar.
The USCCB says its annual calendar gives each day’s celebration, rank, liturgical color, Mass lectionary citations, and Liturgy of the Hours psalter cycle. It is based on the General Roman Calendar and the proper calendar for dioceses in the United States. Read about the USCCB liturgical calendar.
