Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9, 2024, introduced a broad hardware refresh: the iPhone 16 family, Apple Watch Series 10, a black titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2, AirPods 4, and new AirPods Max colors. Apple said the announced hardware reached Apple Store locations worldwide on September 20, 2024; that historical launch date does not establish current stock or pricing.
What Apple announced
The event covered several product categories rather than a single device. Apple’s event recording includes segments on Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 2, AirPods, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 Pro. The details below are Apple’s announced features and claims, not independent test results.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
Apple said the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus use the A18 chip and add Camera Control and the Action button. Apple also specified a 48MP Fusion camera system for both models.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
Apple identified the A18 Pro chip for the Pro models and highlighted larger displays, Camera Control, pro camera and audio capabilities, and improved battery life. The announcement positions the standard and Pro ranges differently, but does not provide independent comparisons or test results. For a buyer comparing the families, the announced distinctions to weigh are display size, camera capabilities, and the stated feature set.

Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 2
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple described Series 10 as its thinnest Apple Watch design to that point, with its largest and most advanced display at the time. It also announced faster charging, water depth and temperature sensing, and sleep apnea notifications.
Apple’s September 12, 2024 announcement footnote said sleep apnea notifications were pending FDA clearance at that time. Apple described the intended feature as detecting signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea in adults aged 18 or older who had not been diagnosed. That is the status and intended scope stated in the 2024 announcement; it should not be read as a statement of current clearance or availability.
