How to check whether the closure is in effect
The dates and hours are a schedule, not confirmation that work is proceeding as announced. Weather may affect the work, so check Iowa DOT’s 511 Iowa traveler-information service shortly before departure for current closures and routing:
- 511ia.org
- Call 511 within Iowa.
- Call 800-288-1047 from outside Iowa.
- Use Iowa DOT’s free app.
Check for a separate 60th Street ramp restriction
A separate Iowa DOT notice issued June 25 announced a closure of the westbound I-80 entrance ramp at 60th Street from July 6 until Nov. 26, weather permitting. That notice gives a detour north on 60th Street, west on University Avenue, then south on Grand Prairie Parkway to westbound I-80 at Exit 118. Because the announced period overlaps the October overnight closure schedule, check 511 Iowa for the ramp’s current status before traveling.
