WatchGuard Technologies appointed Allison Clarke as its new Vice President of Partner Programs and GTM Strategy on September 30, 2026. The newly created role puts her in charge of aligning partner programs and go-to-market initiatives across the company’s routes to market. WatchGuard says it wants partner input to inform areas including enablement, pricing, packaging, and product strategy; the announcement does not say those areas have already changed.
What Clarke’s new role covers
WatchGuard describes the position as a leadership role intended to strengthen its channel-first business model and make the partner experience more seamless. Clarke is to lead the strategy, innovation, and alignment of partner programs and go-to-market initiatives across all routes to market, rather than a single sales channel. WatchGuard’s appointment announcement names three connected parts of that remit:
- Partner programs and enablement: shaping programs and the support that helps partners work with WatchGuard.
- Go-to-market alignment: coordinating initiatives across the routes and motions through which partners take offerings to market.
- Partner input into business decisions: ensuring partner perspectives are reflected in pricing, packaging, and product strategy.
These are the company’s stated priorities for the role, not a list of announced deliverables. WatchGuard has not disclosed a program redesign, new partner incentives or eligibility terms, revised pricing or packaging, or a measured improvement in partner experience.
Clarke’s channel and go-to-market background
WatchGuard says Clarke has more than 20 years of channel and go-to-market leadership experience. According to the company, she spent nearly a decade helping shape Sophos’s global channel strategy and partner programs, most recently served as Vice President of GTM and Partner Programs at SonicWall, and held leadership roles at McAfee where she helped build and scale channel programs. Those career details are attributed to WatchGuard’s announcement.

What WatchGuard says it wants to change
CEO Joe Smolarski described the goal as making WatchGuard “the easiest company in cybersecurity to do business with.” He also said Clarke’s appointment reflects a commitment to a more connected, frictionless partner experience. Clarke said partners want to do business through the routes and motions that work best for them, and that her focus is making each interaction simple, consistent, and rewarding.
Clarke also said she looked forward to meeting partners at IMPACT in Nashville and hearing how WatchGuard could improve the experience and help partners grow. That was an intention expressed at announcement time, not confirmation of what happened at the event.

The appointment signals that WatchGuard is elevating partner-program and go-to-market alignment as a leadership priority. For MSPs and other channel partners, the practical test will be whether partner input leads to specific changes in program design, enablement, pricing, packaging, or product strategy. The announcement provides no terms, timelines, or post-appointment results against which to assess that yet.
